Hi everyone I took fluoxetine for about 3 months then stopped.. it's been about 5 months and my vision has been a total mess, loud ringing in ears, loss of feeling  my skin ,and have brain fog 24/7  it's been a nightmare. is there any way out of this or should I go back on medication ? I am really struggling and not sure what's going on ? I don't really feel depressed or anxiety anymore but more of a feeling that this drug has messed me up and feel total out of it.

Sounds like definite withdrawal symptoms to me.  I am day 13 off Sertraline and I feel nauseous, head feels pressured/waterlogged and spaced it. A lot of people get through this OK but it may take many months. You need to look after yourself and get good sleep/diet. Doctors do not engage with the serious withdrawal many of us suffer. But there are thousands like us.

    Stay strong 🙏

Yes it is withdrawal. I stopped cold turkey in Feb this year, I was ok for about 2 weeks then all hell broke loose.  I stopped it because I was feeling good and figured I did not need it.

Well I won't go into all the symptoms etc as I have done that on other threads but I am now back on the 20mg dose and this is the 3rd week I have been back on it

I still take Klonopin for the anxiety and I still have morning wretching but bear in mind that the proper course of stopping Prozac is to wean off it gradually.  I made the mistake of not doing it. Prozac has a half life of about 21 days, meaning it will still be in your system about 3 weeks after you stop taking it.  However if your brain has not yet caught up to making seratonin, then you will have the effects you just described.

I am struggling too but I am back on it and waiting to see the improvement.

Because of it's long half-life you can take the odd 20mg now and again in your withdrawal period to balance out any adverse discontinuation effects.

If that doesn't help go back to the lowest dose and then reduce more gradually.

    Every other night

    Every 2 nights

    Every 3 nights

    Etc
