Not sure what to do..

I just tunred 30 years old, two months ago half way through sex the guy I was sleeping with took the condom off. I freaked out becuase I was drunk and sober me would never sleep wth him. He's my neighbor and swears he's safe and has nothing but I have seen him with girls and he's mister hot shot. Well I waited a little over two weeks and got tested head to toe with my blood drawn and everything...Everything came back negative. Now two and a half months later I went and got tested again because I slept with an ex protecitvely but we foreplayed for legit a hot second and that scares me. Its been three weeks since that inciddent and last week I felt like I had BV..abdomen pain and normal color and smell discharge but more than normal. They called me yesterday and said all my tests came back negative including one of the herpes but one herpes came back positive..I'm so scared right now becuase I'm afraid if I have it I passed it to my friend who now has a gf and the dr. said it could be a false positive which also confuses me. It's been a total of almost three months since the guy I wouldve probably gotten it from and I have never had a single symptom until what I thought was BV last week....Not sure what to do or think..they said to come get tested again this week ....

How did they test you? IgG or IgM? It's important to know which. IgG should not return a false positive for only one, but IgM could, as the latter antibody test is unreliable for herpes and not recommended.

No Idea idea I went numb when I heard the words positive. He tried to explain those terms to me and that they may be a false positive I'm legit freaked out and loosing my mind. Like this is suicide worth having this stuff for life. I am always safe and the one time this a**hole takes a condom off. Like my friends joke saying because I'm usually so careful I'll probably get it. I'm sick to my stomach.

Then what you should do is go get tested........you need  to know what you are up against.  This is not to be taked to lightly.....this is your body and you have other people to think about.  Once you get your result...then you will know where to go from there.  But thinking about it is not going to solve the problem....it could get worse.

I did get tested! They said it could be a false positive because i have no symptoms and to come back once the BV medicine is done...

so you will finish the bv med.........and try to get re-tested again.  vaginal yeast is wy different from herpes.  Herpes  is very itchy and forms into blisters with open wounds and pain until you can not walk.  Until then it also helps to not wear tight pants and undies....sleep without undies to air your genital area....it helps....and keep fragrance away from that area.  Let me know about your result...good luck.

"BV" can be mistaken for herpes and loads of people have herpes without recognizable symptoms. No idea what your clinic meant by no symptoms being a potential false positive.

yeah well i called y guy friend this morning to tell him to get tested incase and he said he did a few weeks ago and was negative and will again just incase because he has gf now who was a virgin...god forbid i ever gave it to him and he gives it to her..i legit would die. Also the guy who I got it from if I do have it claims he has nothing....which is a total lie like WTF...you are the only person I slept with in months and only person that ripped a condom off half way through sex. I never give oral just incase because getting this has been my biggest fear! I get tested every couple of months or so even when not sexually active just to stay up to date on my body sooo he is def lying or doesnt have symptoms and know he has it yet... sad I cant stop crying and freaking out because I havent had any symptoms but like WTF a false positive just doesnt sound right either you have it or you dont ....

Their reason for suspecting a false positive is a poor one, but false positives *are* possible. It really depends on the type of test you had done and what you're exact results were. Any way you can get a copy?

I'm going to planned parenthood tomorrow to see what they think since they are actually trained in that department. If they think it's not bacterial or yeast I will go back and get retested. ASAP. I mean I pretty much have convinced myself I have it. I don't see how a test can be false positive. I don't have the correct symptoms for it but like everyone says sometimes you don't. I'm more mad that the guy who gave it to me if I have it won't admit to having it. My friend handled it well telling him surprisingly and said his college gf had it and he never got it from her after dating her for several years. He calmed me down while crying and said people will still date me. It's legit just my biggest fear. I use to get tested from head to toe after making out with people and the one time a **shole isn't safe with me and pulls the condom off ... Like wtf this would be my luck

Did you mean you had sex with your friend who now has a girlfriend, and then weeks later had sex with your ex?

Perhaps you got it from your ex then?

You know you can get it even if you use a condom

No I slept with someone three months ago almost now and got tested three weeks later and it was negative...almost two months later slept with my friend who now has a gf and she is a virgin and he got tested right before they had sex and he was negative...so I must have gotten it from the other guy before him if I have it...I'm just confused because I did oral with the first guy and he ejaculated...sorry for the vulgarity in my mouth so how was I only positive for one if we had partial unprotected sex and he had it? He's saying he doesnt have it of course and to go get retested. I havent had any symptoms and i stress like a crazy person so I figured since thats a trigger of it that it might show up by now since its already been over three months...I just finished my BV medicine and am going back to get retested Monday..wish me luck sad
