Old tendonitis flareup or SS flareup

Had 2 sites of tendonitis (on shoulder blade and top of arm) about 10 yrs ago (at least) which flares up now and again if i over use the arm and carry heavy weights etc . Since early january i have been suffering from acute tendonitis ...across shoulder and arm which is now affecting elbow and neck..xray showed the tendonitis and osteocronosis of cervical verbrae 6/7 (i think this means degeneratin disc between C/7...had 4 sessions of shock wave therapy  on shouder mainly and 5 sessions of physiotherapy over the last month or so again on shoulder mainly .....not made much difference (relief after shock wave was temporary).

Could this a SS flare up ..(.i dont really want to go to rheum unless i have to coz i know he will prescribe predisolone and plaquenil.)

I was diagnosed with SS and osteoporosis in August 2015 and my tendonitis from a long time ago was from heavy weights in gym ,I am sure.

This is the longest period of time i have suffered from such pain caused by tendonitis.

Has anybody else suffered from acute tendonitis for over a month now ?? Should i just go to rheum and go on the meds?

I have the same issue with my right shoulder which has now gone to the elbow for about a year now. Was recently told by my RA that this is due to positive test for Fibromyalgia, she told me that around 50% of SS have this. So maybe this could be what is causing your pain.

sorr to trouble you. I was always told there was no definitive test for fibromyalgia? How is it done? I have very sore shins if pressed against. Absolutely no bruising of any sort. Had it for decades so can't stand reflexology pressure on them etc. Strangely though, masage is OK! For instance if my hubby slightly knocks against me in the bed, it's like "ve been kicked with a boot. Is it fibromyalgia or lactic acid?

If you google pressure points for Fibromyalgia it will show you 18 points on the body. If you are positive for more than 11 then you possible have Fibromyalgia. You will have distinctive pain if even slightly touched in these areas.

thank you- have checked it and it shows knees but not front of shins. May be referred pain of course. Reading about treatment, it's obvious exercise is crucial and it does help a bit. Conversely, the fatigue from SS gets me so I just can't rouse myself to get to the gyms and/or the aquarobics classes, which I do enjoy. And I am interested about the shoulder tendonitis, as I am having pains there too at present. Thanks for your time

Have you tried injections in those joints? I have tendinitis in my right elbow and I get relief from a steroid injection. But I do want to say that your doctor said it wasn't tendinitis that was bothering you. He said it was disc problems. So I think you may need to come to terms with this not being tendinitis any more.
