Discharged by hospital this week 7 weeks post a and p repair op and said to try sex using ky gel and very gentle. ..... she obviously has nor had this surgery. Had a relaxing day including lunch and some cocktails. On hotel so nice and relaxed. Hubbie really gentle and after several osirion moves it was just bearable. Felt like barbed wired and hot pokers but husband was impressed about tightness..... think I need to leave it alone for a few more weeks.

rita I don't know whether it's the predictive text or not but I found your post difficult to read. I presume you are saying sex was uncomfortable. It's ok to try and have sex at 7 weeks so it doesn't matter whether your consultant has had the surgery or not because that's the general advice by all Urogynaecologists. Yes leave it for another week or two because every woman is different and we heal at different rates.

In the UK terrie the advice is to wait a week then try again. 7-8 weeks is when they prefer you to try particularly if you've been examined and advised to try, then you know you've healed well enough and won't cause any damage to your wound.

Rita, you are very brave. I tried yesterday the first time seven weeks post op, I think I only let my husband in for around two centimetres. I had perineum reconstruction as well, so far the pain is mainly on the perineum, but now I start to worry more that I will hurt more inside. But yes, wait for another week and try again. I'm sure it will work in the end.

Lululucky I'm sorry you found it painful as well. There is a product that may help. A while ago I told other ladies who were interested in it about the product and some found it useful. It can be bought online and is available on prescription and from the pharmacy although they may have to order it for you. This is in the UK though,I'm unsure if it's available elsewhere. If anyone is interested they can send me a private message because I can't mention it here on the forum. It's ok with Alan (Emis Moderator) as well, I'm not selling it and I don't profit from it in any way but it was a Urogynaecologist I've worked with told me about it. Good luck for next time x
