On cilatropam for 10 days, will it work?

I originally had a stomach complaint and then developed a burning sensation in the back of my throat. I am on ppis , had a gastroscope, which only showed mild inflammation of the duodenum . Ent

Specialist said my throat looked normal. Assessed for anxiety and depression at GP and it came back as severe anxiety with depression. GP says my throat and now the skin burning sensations are anxiety induced. I am a single mum, past 12 months, and had a very difficult time at work just before all of this started. I have been on 20 mg of cilatropam for ten days. So far this burning has not gone away. In fact since the results of my scope etc it has got worse,,as I am still worried/anxious over it, my mouth is very dry too. I am trying to ignore it and just get on with things but I keep wondering if this drug will work and bring my anxiety levels down. My therapist and friends say it will work in time. Anyone else have anything similar?

At first when I first started the same dose as you everything got way worse as from what I understand a side affect of the med is heightened anxiety it took me over 4 weeks to see a real benefit although my major complaint was head pressure and fogginess and the pressure went away in about two weeks or so but the fogginess is still present throughout the day, usually not all day but like 1 or two times a day for about an hr each, I tried to move the time I take the medicine around to see if I could eliminate those but so far it hasn't worked and has gotten a little worse, it doesn't help that I developed another thing with my throat so that's bringing my anxiety back a little more than usual but all in all I'm 5 weeks in and except for today I have been pretty much symptom free I still had a little fogginess but not to bad. Today seems to be a blip but it's also a rainy dreary day and I have off work which doesn't help with keeping myself busy lol good luck

Hi, I have been on 20mg of citalopram for 4 months now. And would say I am very stable and back to my normal self again. I still have the odd blip and I'm talking tiny ones but I don't mind it as it reminds me I am ok as I can control it.

It took me nearly 10/11 weeks to feel 100% I had really bad stomach issues, lots of heartburn and reflux which was agony!! I was prescribed ranitidine and omeprazole to take which helped and was told that citalopram and gastric issues is very common. Reflux was awful and I could cry with the heartburn pain.

You need to keep going it dies get better. I nearly gave up so many times but I'm glad I didn't. You can do it x
