One year on and time to celebrate

Posted , 11 users are following.

Exactly one year ago today my new life began....  within 2 weeks I was walking , 3 weeks achieved my first mile and 4 weeks walking 3 miles a day.  I now walk anything up to 10 miles a day, can play on climbing frames with my grand child . swings and roundabouts are a doddle.  2 weddings and wearing high heels , I have travelled by trains, boats and planes..

You may be thinking well she is very young and very lucky.. Nope I am 64 this year and my complex surgery took over 4 hours, however with the determination of steel and with my family encouraging me to get fit I consider I have done it..

Tonight I will celebrate with my family and raise a glass to the amazing medical team, my never ending supportive family, and to me for grinning and bearing the difficult times to get to where I am today which is fitter than ever, jogging ( gently) walking a marathon each week and never ever giving in....  Good luck and my best wishes to you all for support xx

    Hi pollye

you are a inspiration I am 10 weeks post op on my left hip. I am still using a stick whilst outside as been getting pain in other hip ,but is easing off and left hip is getting better all the time and am able to do a lot more. You have given me the belief that if I keep going the way I am going and to be patient anything is possible. Enjoy your one year anniversary you deserve it😀 Xx

Thank you for the lovely reaponse. Once you accept that it will take 10_12 months to recover it puts everyday into prospective.. just do a little bit more each day and you will be as good as new .. just not tomorrow x
