Each GP is different, some will prescribe a month at a time. Mine prescribed 3 months and I go back at 10 weeks where if I have list 5% of my weight he will prescribe a further 3 months x

Spose it depends on how much weight you have to lose and how well you lose it while on them. . If you don't lose weight I guess he's not going to keep chucking 60 quid of 5 he nhs' s budget at you lol.

    Shelagh x

Im 5"11 and was 16 stone.

Told my gp how determined I was to shift the lard lol. Took 7 months but lost 4 stone.

Now 12 stone which is still heavy but being 5"11 I'm a size 12! Compared to the size 18 I was I happy x

Mine gives a box at a time i said could i have them until i got to my goal weight and he was fine with that. I have heard it's 18 months though and that's of course if you continue to keep losing weight x

Although some ladies on here get 3 months at a time would be great for me because i can never get an appointment at my surgery SURPRISE! i guess it's like that at most places now

@Shelagh that's true i pay for mine and wish i could get 3 months at a time x

@fattysue how much you have to lose?
