Orlistat Check In Group

Posted , 17 users are following.

I thought I would make a wee group where all of us who have just started recently (or join up later) can come to ask questions and give updates. Saves us all making a new discussion all the time. Feel free to join in...or not!

Update:

So I am starting day 5 and finally noticing some effects of the pill. No accidents or anything, but I am going to the toilet more regularly (from once every 2-3 days to 2 times PER day). Less transit time means my body will absorb less of it which hopefully = weight loss. I refuse to use the scale until I have done it for at least a week. I don't want obsess over it every day.

Question:

I was looking over that Norfolk guide suggested but at one point it advised like 5 slices of bread before noon. If I eat 5 slices of bread in any day I will never lose weight..I know some people will start the whole ''calorie is a calorie'' but from a Biological perspective I would highly disagree. Without getting to technical about it I will just say over 14 years I have experiemented enough to know that my body is HIGHLY sensitive to simple carbs (wheat, sugar, potatoes etc). SO my question here is...are any of you guys following a sorta Low carb and low fat approach? By low carb I do not mean fruit/veg, just simple carbs like bread, pasta, rice, potatoes etc.

So official 2 week weight in.

EXACTLY the same 108.3 kg as when I started, before the initial 1 kg gain last week.

Lets hope next week shows a kg loss (or more) and not another same or 1 kg gain. DANG YOU FLUCTUATION! ha ha

Hi I've started 3 days ago. No real bad side affects yet. But my doctor told me to do a low carb diet for two weeks. I'm a bit scared after reading some of the side affects  of low carb/ high fat and orlistat. I'm going to stick to it for now. But if I get said side affects I may re think it. I'd be really interested to chat and follow each other in this journey. I have about 5 stone to lose. I'm having surgery to remove two discs in my neck on 23rd November so I'm trying to lose as much as possible before then. Look forward to hearing from you.

I have been on Orlistat for a few months now, I love 4kg the first month, the second month I stayed the same, then the third month I lost 3kg.  I am due for my next checkup in a few days and am holding thumbs I continue to lose weight.  My body had gotten used to the tablets and I was fairly regular and knew more or less at what times during the day I would need to go, however since I stopped taking my folic acid supplement and had a bad weekend due to a birthday celebration it has thrown everything out of the window and I am all over the place again sad  I am hoping it will stabalise again soon as I can barely go out for half an hour without needing a visit to the bathroom at the moment.  Any suggestions?
