OUCH.

I have hsv1 but am having a genital outbreak.. The first one I've ever had and I have never felt this pain before and I've had 3 children. The only time I feel kind of alright is if I'm in the bathtub with extremely hot water. I've tried Tylenol, ibuprofen, aspirin, Valtrex daily, neosporin, tea tree oil, ice, and desitin and everything makes it burn worse. I called my doctor and the only thing they can give me is lidocaine cream. I'm incredibly scared to try this since everything is making it worse. Do you think this will burn too? I've had tons of open ulcers for about 3 days now and can barely walk.. How much longer is this going to last? I can't take it much longer. sad

It will last a week or so after starting valtrex. I know it hurts and sucks but try to ride the wave until then. And yes almost everything will burn it. I always recommend 100% organic raw honey. It burns like crazy but it helps with the sores. It helps draw out the pus and stuff. Also no underwear when you can. Let the area breathe! Make sure it's always clean as well.

Hello sorry to hear of your outbreak. I had the same my outbreak was horrible, it would ease when I was in a bath with the hot tap running. I had hydro Caine which is a numbing gel and it was a god send at first it would numb it for about an hour and I loved it but after a few days it would only last about 10 minutes and had this horrible bumpy rash on my bum which I thought the heepes had spread but when I went for a check up they said I had a allergic reaction to it and had to stop using it. But everyone is different I would defo try the numbing cream yes it will sting but it is a god send. Good luck xx

Although it brings you relief, I'm not sure that soaking in very hot water is such a good idea. Warm water is less harsh on your skin. Try adding Epsom salts.

Sorry to hear. I went through my very first outbreak about 3 weeks ago. The Valtrex worked for me and I had a lot of great feedback from this site. It helped tremendously emotionally as well bc I was so shocked that the results came back positive. Take the advice u are given on these sites and just give it time. I was out of work for about a week in a half. 3 er visits and an urgent care visit and finally a gyno that told me the real issue.. everyone kept saying UTI and I just knew it was such abnormal amount of pain for a UTI. I know the pain u are referring to and it even gets hard to sit and peeing turns into a breakdown of tears bc of the pain. Hang in there. I have twin girls and I have to agree with the comparison. Nothing is like it. Good luck to u and venting is very important as well. Its a scary thing to go through but theres lots of people on here to reach out to.
