i have a guest and husband who I hve to cater for, -takeaway is the answer because I am putting my feet up and watching Wimbledon. I am doing nothing else. I will do what I feel capable of and hope that I can sit in the chair for longer than 10 minutes before I have to get up and move about because  I ache !

hope all of you are comfortable , sleep is eluding me tonight

I was a bit worried when my husband bough the chair as they are not cheap!!

What a wonderful purchase, I love it. I sleep in it quite often.it is electric and  You can adjust every angle.  It's amazing when you are in pain that just moving an inch can relieve the pressure, so to answer your question it is very comfortable and has been a godsend to me as I don't sleep well at the best of time

just about to make lunch and put my feet up for Wimbledon

hope me you're having a good day renee

      lots of loce

       xxx😍

    Hey Carol

Good to hear you are taking time out with Wimbledon, tho sad Heather Watson just pipped at post!

you can only do so much, and rest time gives you energy for yourself and others, but remember you are important and need to put yourself first!

Hi Carol, I always take a dose of PainKillers before I turn in, and I get the 4hr effect, then I am lucky and can now sleep on my unoperated side, with a pillow between my legs, always got 6 to 8 hrs normaly but when I was first home I was sleeping 10hrs, and then kipping 3 hrs so now not needing as much sleep, perhaps it was the rest that bumped up my recovery, but the left is getting me down now, more painful than the right was, and I am back at work now, but not too happy with first shift last night, it was too painful really, and will just try to last untill the Preop, and talk to the nurse there about this raging pain and debilitating problem of my failing left leg...I will do this week and hope it gets better as I go....

    Kind regards Ian.

      Hi Ian,

did you do a full shift or are you working a percentage?

I myself work 65% at the moment, 24 of 36 hours. That for me, is doable, taking two hours travel into account as well.

This way I can stretch the time a little towards the operation date. Do you have one yet?

Hi AM6 I did an 8hr shift and am sitting down dealing cards, BJ+ Poker but the high chair cuts the blood supply off to my legs, so am taking a cusion in tonight for it, my Preop is 23 July, and hope I can last with my left untill then at least, I must explain to the Preop nurse I am very near the end of it, and soon I wont be able to walk at all on it, they just dont seem to listen though, and I have bills to pay, I work, am not on benifits, and not retired...Guess I am a rare lame duck for their system atm...

TTFN Ian over and out...scream and shout,, MY HIPS ARE OUT!!!!

Oh god.. Don't make us a theme song now 😁

On the seating, aren't there also some footstools maybe? Sounds like your legs are hanging. Something I never come across, but I was told by many (fully healthy) people that sitting with your legs hanging tends to hurt after time. See it in the metro to work as well, short people that sort of stack their legs to not have them hang.

Bu the way; sounds like a fun job despite the troubles.

Try and persuade your GP to back you up for urgency before the 23rd is all I can say really, or have something with you that can an outside view if things.

My wife came with me first time and where I downsized certain things, she gave the real deal. Observations of my total pinguinness, the faces I made, the grunts left and right for no reason to an ousider. She was a great catalyst. I didn't even realize the faces of agony. Thought I hid the pain well. Not so much...

And yes, being relatively young, seems to be strange to tehm, thinking we all have time to slowly convalesce. That is just not true. Unfortunately...
