Overnight Corneal Ulcer

I am 18 years old and i have been wearing soft, weekly/monthly contacts since i was 9. Today is Tuesday. Last Friday night i was taking my contacts out at around 1am and afterward my eye was bloodshot and had a lot of inflamation, so i rinsed my eye out with saline and went to sleep thinking it would go away overnight. I woke up the next morning around midday and my eye had swollen up and was more painful and sensitive to light. My parents were out of town for the weekend and i didnt make my eye a big priority because the symptoms were very similar to pink eye. Saturday night i literally cried myself to sleep from the pain and woke up multiple times during the night, i would go to the bathroom and when i turned the light on it felt like somebody was stabbing me in my eye socket with a pencil. At 6am that morning i woke up, went to the bathroom and examined my eye in the mirror and saw a big white ulcer right on top off my pupil. I then called my parents and told them that as soon as they got home they needed to take me to the doctor and they arrived at around 11am. No optomitrists were open on sunday but luckily my sister used to be a nurse and knew a doctor that opened her office just for me. When i went in she dilated my eye and put orange dye in it and examined it, she then prescribed me with antibiotic eye drops i had to take every hour during the day and every two hours at night, she also prescribed dilating drops and painkillers. The next day i went to see a specialist and he scraped my eye for cultures and prescribed me with what he claimed was the strongest antibiotic you can get in eye drop form. It has only been three days since it formed but ever since the first visit, the pain has been minimal and not really a problem because of the dilating drops and painkillers, and my vision has went from only being able to see light to now almost seeing defined shapes, still very far from clear obviously. Also, the colored part of my eye at first was dark grey(my eye is normally brown) and there was an almost perfect circle of white that was the same size as my pupil right on top if it covering it, but now there is a very light murkiness in my eye and the white circle is probably less than a quarter of what it was. Also, the doctor was almost 100% sure it was a bacterial infection, not fungal or parasitic. Like i said the pain is virtually nothing now and i can live with not seeing out of one eye for a month, my only concern is that i may recieve permanent damage to my eye and not only could i have scarring that appears in my vision but i may never be able to wear contacts again. Obviously it could be even worse than that but based on how fast it seems to be healing i doubt it would be worse than that. Im not sure how i got the ulcer but thats not really important to me, nor is knowing how to prevent it from happening again after it heals because i can easily find that info. But Has anybody else had an experience similar to this? How long did it take to clear up? And, most importantly, did you recieve any kind of permanent damage? Its also very important to note that the ulcer was right on top of my pupil, which apparently makes it a lot worse.
