Pain in arm and hand / irregular heartbeat

Hi guys I was hoping someone would be able to put my mind at ease. I've been in and out of doctors for a year now. In March last year I started to get really bad pains in my left underarm and gradually it spread to my wrist and I get pains in my fingers and thumb. It's gotten to the point that I can't put pressure on my left hand and even writing is painful as I'm left handed. I've had an xray of my chest (my dad has sarcoidosis) which is clear and an mri of my shoulder which is also clear. I'm waiting to see an orthopedic specialist but it's a long waiting list. I'm in so much pain and I'm fed up of taking painkillers. My doctor thinks it could be nerve damage to my spine they aren't sure. This could also be completely unrelated but since November I've developed an irregular heartbeat and I am on bisopropol and again now waiting to see a heart specialist. I feel like I'm falling apart and no one has a clue what's wrong.

Ur pain starts from heart area n its kind of continuous pain but not hard kind of pain n this paun travel to under arm.. sometime it goes to ur hand n u feel needles n pins in ur left arm finger..

That was wat happend to me.. I had this pain n my gp said it a muscular pain..

He gave me pain killers but my situation remains same.. wat I believe its a nerve problem.. some one told me to try wet cupping ( Google wet cupping for details) I have done wet cupping 3 sessions till now.. im 99% good.. no more pain n no more pins n needles in my arm n finger... along with that if u use ajwa dates ( one of the kind of dates) seed powder for 3 months 1 table spoon in morning n one in evening with water u would never have any heart problems.. u can easily order it online.

This is wat I have done for me n im using this powder as well.. trust me im 99% okay now..

Hi, I think there are so many places where this can be coming from.  I just did a quick google and came up with 9 reasons.  Some of which are fairly minor.  I know you said your father has sarcoidosis, which is not necessariy genetic, but you could be more genetical predisposed to an inflammatory response to an environmental antigen in a genetically susceptible person. Proposed triggers include Propionibacterium acnes and mycobacteria (potentially the Mycobacterium tuberculosis catalase-peroxidase [mKatG] protein)Mold or mildew and certain unidentified substances present in workplaces with musty odors and pesticides.  Relatives and siblings are more likely to have been exposed to the same environment, that's why it seems genetic.  Good luck to you.  I just found out all of this by googling things.  Take care.

What Can Cause Pain Under Right Armpit?

    1. Muscle Strain

The pectoralis muscle is a major muscle found on your chest. It may be injured or strained when you do intense exercise without warming up. A pulled muscle under the right armpit may cause pain, but this is not usually serious.

    2. Swollen Lymph Nodes

Lymph nodes are small and oval tissues found all over the body, but mostly in the neck, armpits and groin. Your lymph nodes can swell up when infection invades your body, which may be caused by viruses, bacteria or parasites. Other conditions that can cause swelling of the lymph nodes leading to pain under right armpit include cancer and autoimmune disorders like rheumatoid arthritis.

    3. Diabetes

This condition is characterized by uncontrolled increases in blood sugar levels. If left untreated, complications like nerve damage or peripheral neuropathy can occur. It affects mostly the legs and the feet, when excess sugar (glucose) damages the tiny blood vessels around your nerves. Pain under right armpit may occur when the armpit nerves are affected, causing sharp pains.

    4. Breast Cancer

Pain under right armpit may be a symptom of breast cancer which is one of common health problems of women. Breast cancer is painless in most cases. If female have a lump in the breast or armpit, it is best to consult a doctor immediately for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Breast cancer can also come with other symptoms, including thicken tissues or lump in breasts, changes on size and shape of the breasts , dimpling on skin of the breasts area, skin rashes around the nipples, discharge or blood-tinged discharge from the nipples, changes of the appearance of nipples, etc.

    5. Shingles or Herpes Zoster

Herpes zoster (shingles) is an extremely painful condition caused by virus attacking the nerves. It is accompanied by uncomfortable skin rashes that tend to affect only on one side of the body, usually on the face, chest, back or arms. If you are affected by this condition, the underarm may also experience severe pain.

    6. Inflammation of Hair Follicles

Certain parts of the body including the armpits have more hair follicles, which are prone to infection. Inflammation of these hair follicles and surrounding sweat glands can occur when bacteria invade them. This can also occur when the pores are clogged by dead skin cells, bacteria and excess oil. This can result in the formation of infected cysts and sinus tracts, which can cause pain, itching, pus formation and scarring. If your right armpit is affected, you will experience pain in this area. Cyst removal and antibiotic therapy may be necessary if severe.

    7. Anxiety Pain

Anxiety can causes underarm pain due to shaking, underarm sweating, increasing heart rate, sweating and irritation. And these symptoms can lead to pain under right armpit. Sharking along with rapid heartbeat can make muscles stain, then sweating adds on sensation of painful and irritating, which make the armpit fell pain.

    8. Peripheral Artery Disease

Narrowing of the arteries in the legs and arms causes a reduction in blood flow to these areas. This can lead to tissue injury, typically causing sharp, shooting pains.

    9. Waxing Pain

Waxing and shaving the underarm can cause sore armpits. If you have pain under right armpit after waxing, take a painkiller and avoid touching it for a while until the skin heals. To avoid such pain, you need to clean the area before waxing, and wait until your hair under arms is long enough

I am sorry for the sufffering you are going through. I have pains in my lower right leg and I am trying to resolve the issue. I don't know where you live but it might be worth it to go to one of the top new york city hospitals. Where your spine and nerves are concerned be very, very careful. One doctor at Columbia Hospital said he would not operate until he knows the cause of the problem. Others need the money!
