Pain in leg/thigh

Does anyone get this - I've had it about 2 weeks now. My hips ache and then my thigh and knee (right leg) - gives me jip when I get up from sitting after a while but once I move it eases - really boring having this - does anyone else suffer from this?

I am not sure what jip means, but after sitting a bit I do get somewhat stiff and slow start to moving around. After a bit, I am loosened up and moving around like usual. I was told it's due to the drop in Estrogen. Not sure if that's it, but also not liking feeling like an old lady, lol!

English terminology - jip = bother/annoyance - thank you for your comment - I feel like an old lady creaking everywhere. I think I should be taking magnesium. Anyway, I can't go to the doctor AGAIN - been five times in the last six weeks - big sigh. Wish the anxiety would go x

Thanks for explaining new term for me. I will say, I did and still do at times drink the magnesium fizzy drink at night. You may want to try tumeric as well. I haven't had either lately and until I read your post, I forgot, those were things that did seem to help. You will see the anxiety (mine is a bit heightened right now as well) somewhat settles with daily intake of the magnesium. The tumeric is supposed to be a great anti-inflammatory. Good luck!

It's so strange I get it only when I'm on one side or another around 2-4 o clock at night. I walk a lot, no problems with sitting.

Thank you - it was painful last night but it is on my mind now along with other things and periods have come back regularly and due next week so it could be related. Just get worried every now and then that something is seriously wrong - I am hating this. Thank you for your comment and yes it's everywhere in my right leg!

Dear Sophie
I know how it feels health anxiety in peri is common! Funny enough the leg business didn't worry me half as much as the stomach issues and loosing weight through them, keep strong and know you aren't alone xx

Thank you! I had the stomach issue but only for around 3 weeks - thank goodness that disappeared - it was agony. These symptoms are a nightmare - I never realised it was going to be this much of a challenge and I can't take HRT so will have to ride it out. This blog is a life saver knowing we're not alone - very jealous of my friends who don't seem to suffer at all!! So unfair....!!!!

I am so sorry to hear about your sister - life can be so damn unfair. I have lost parents and a brother - as a family we've been through hell and so my anxiety is brought on by the slightest symptom because of this. No doctor can understand it and it makes me very angry. I sit in their surgery and they have photos of their family emblazoned across their desks and have the audacity to say it's in my head and I'm imagining it - thank god for this blog - full of kind people going through the same thing and I know I'm not going mad - I am strong but these symptoms are just so draining. I'm having a happy evening though watching telly with a large glass of wine!!

Sorry to hear about your parents and brother, bereavement itself can affect us deeply and has stages to go through. This forum has been great, like you say some of the health professionals dont really understand and need to go through it themselves to really know what menopause entails. I am someone who has had abit of an anxiety disorder most of my life (I do not like open spaces for a start) and I try to live my life as normal as I can. Bereavement knocked me sideways but managed to carry on and then menopause struck! I hated the health anxiety and anxiety in general which it magnified in me. There have been times where I felt scared and alone and didnt even want to get out of bed! Thankfully I feel alot better but the symptoms still bubble up now and then. Xx
