I am due to have a right THR on 5th jan but my left bum check has an extremely dull ache which is quite painfull! Has anybody suffered with this on the opposite side to where the op is taking place before?

I was just wondering if it is some kind of side effect from the hip thats needs replacing??

Has you right hip also got arthirits. My right hip arthiritis appeared as pain in my buttock and my left hip as pain in my groin, soo  different I was amazed it was coming from the same cause, but Dr confirmed it was damaged hip joint.  Both eventually replaced 15 months apart, difficult, but doooo able, second time round a little more nervous but more confident as I knew what was coming with recovery, Dr's amazed in the operating theatre that I was sooo calm, blood pressure at normal, awake for a long time as they prepped me for surgery, soo interesting, and staff kindly and gentle.
