Pain on left side of face

Posted , 3 users are following.

I suffer with pain on the left side of my face in the form of tingling feeling in the lip, gum, tongue, nostril and eye. Have been on amitriptlyne for a while and then on gabapentine and pregabalin but the last two gave me awful side effects so have come off them and just taking painkillers at the moment, but they don't do much at all. Has anyone tried a Tens Machine?

Hello Sandra,  I have tried a tens machine many years ago for my back.  It was not overly great.  Short term it was okay but not for long term use.  I take Gaberpentin without any problems and have taken Amitriptyline in the past.  Go back to your GP as there are lots of other drugs that may help you.

Hi Elizabeth, I suffer with acid reflux so I think that's why the Gaberpentin does'nt get on with my stomach, he has put me back onto Amitriptyline but at the moment my head seems to be up in the clouds. Have got to go back to GP in a month's time, if no joy will ask to be referred to pain clinic

Hello Sandra,  I would think that you probally haven't got the right recepters for Gaberpentin.  Hope you get on okay with the Amitriptyline, give it time.  Yes pain clinic might be a good idea.

You can't use a tens machine around your face amitriptyline takes 4-6 weeks to get full effect been on them a year 30-40 mg per night it's the only drug that's takes the pain away I take tramadol during the day

Mine pain is numbness in feet toes and both legs have had face numbness but that went

    Good luck
