I had the anterior procedure 5 months ago on my left hip.My thigh is numb, getting needles and pins and burning sensation. My surgeon also does not want to admit something is wrong. I went to a second opinion doctor and had an MRI. There is a sac of fluid that has to be drained/aspirated and am going next week. See if you have that. Also saw a neurologist who put me on neurontin for nerve pain. Once the surgeon operates on us tey are through with us. They are neglectful and have no compassion. Go further to check it out. I also have a bad limp from the surgery and the hip side is longer!!! So this whole procedure has been and still is a nightmare. Keep me posted.

Yes that is true when is operation done they are finish with you. Definitely i will get second opinion. MRI show bursitis simile like yours sac of fluid but he told me to have injection to relieve pain. He does not do anything else. He told me if he operated and get fluid it could come back. I reckon he just want get rid off me. .my leg after operation was longer also 1.5 cm but when they did right one they make nearly same different is only 2 mm. First was done posterior and second 7 months ago anterior and surgeon was really good he did see me 3 times after operation and make sure i don't have a pain. I was as a public patterns in private hospital and he is private doctor. Second time i was more lucky than first time. I hope they will sort your hip and you will get better, please keep me posted how did you go. Thank you for advice.

Sorry to hear you're having problems. It can't hurt to get a second opinion as something isn't right. Could it be sciatica? Hope it improves for you soon x

    Hi

I will start with the information ...and the negative of the results that you provide. First, let's talk about the meaning and repercussion of bursitis .

Hip bursitis is a common problem that causes pain over the outside of the upper thigh and hip joint. A bursa is a fluid-filled sac that allows smooth motion between two surfaces. For example, in the hip, a bursa rests between the bony prominence over the outside of the hip (the greater trochanter) and the firm tendon that passed over this bone. When the bursa becomes inflamed, each time the tendon has to move over the bone, pain results. Because patients with hip bursitis move this tendon with each step, symptoms of this condition can be quite painful. Patients who have had surgery, such as hip fracture surgery or hip replacement, may complain of pain over the outside of the hip. These symptoms are often due to irritation to the bursa causing hip bursitis.he diagnosis of hip bursitis is made most reliably on physical examination. The most common symptoms of hip bursitis include: Tenderness over the bony prominence of the upper/outer thigh, swelling over the bursa, difficulty sleeping on the affected side. An x-ray is often obtained to ensure there are no bone spurs or calcification that could be contributing to the problem. Occasionally, your doctor may obtain an MRI if the diagnosis is unclear or if the problem does not resolve with initial treatment. As with any medical condition, other problems that can cause similar symptoms should be considered. Hip bursitis is usually a clear diagnosis, and the symptoms can be distinguished from other conditions. However, some cases of hip bursitis can be confused with other medical conditions. These include:

Iliotibial band tendonitis, Hip pointers, Low-back conditions.

Most people with hip bursitis will improve with simple, nonsurgical treatments. Ice, anti-inflammatory medications, and physical therapy are typically sufficient to alleviate the symptoms of bursitis. If the problem is not improving, a cortisone injection is often used to help to alleviate the discomfort. Very infrequently a surgical procedure is necessary to remove the chronically inflamed bursa from the hip.

Now, you have a clear understand of the bursitis. your case should have another opinion of a orthopedic hip surgery specialist and them rule out other conditions ,such as low back conditions and see the actual conditions of your hip ...with a full exam physical and new studies......good luck and I hope the my information help you .
