I've been in hospital now 4 three weeks after being admitted with acute pancreatitis I'm in constant agony and can hardly eat. I was on intensive care for three days and am on strong pain meds I get nausea and take tablets for this also. How long can this last.

    So sorry to hear that you are going through this intense pain. Is this your first attack and what has your doctor told you? I have idiopathic chronic pancreatitus, but have not had such intense pain,but unfortunately my pancreatitus has no chance of healing. I have heard if your follow the Doctor's orders an acute attack can heal. I would assume that might depend on life style and how many attacks you have had. Prayers being said that this nightmare will end soon and you will heal.

    I was ICU with acute necrotizing pancreatitis.   Then another week once flown to a different hospital.  The necrotizing was my issue.  Had 5 procedures after.  Had malnutrition for 4 months.  Total I was bad off for 4 months.  Are you somewhere that understands pancreatitis?   I laid in ICU in NY for 3.5 weeks before my husband hired a plane to fly me to a pancreatic institute.  They were surprised I was even alive.  

    I wish I could tell you.  My situation was unusual. I was so drugged up I hardly remember being in ICU.  I’m so so sorry your going through this.  I pray your someone that truly understands pancreatitis!!!
