Colonoscopy prior to surgery showed edema and stricture of sigmoid colon. Having problems since surgery and being told that resection needs to be done again because of narrowing (stricture). Why wasn't the narrow portion removed as part of the resection the first time?

Just a thought but perhaps they didn't see the narrowing then.
They saw odema which is swelling. How do you feel after surgery ,, any better ?

I still havent had normal bm. Mrsa in incision across belly. Thouht infect ad slowed healing of resection bt doc says "whatever is wrong s not due to surgery" but if gi doc says we to do resection then another 6 inches to come out. No pain meds past first 4 days of discharge. Hubby packing and doing woundcare. How long are insides going to hurt ? I need get back to work but trouble with pain, sever constioation nd dont know whre to go now that surgeon not interested.
