Pelvic Floor HELP PLEASE?

Posted , 4 users are following.

Hi.

After giving birth i didnt do my pelvic floor exercises, 9 years ago.

Long story short they are very weak now. I CAN after periods of constipation and straining/coughing too hard etc suffer periods of pain etc in my pelvic floor.

Please can you private me a message as we cannot share on here, some links to how to do pelvic floor exercises if you suffer from a weakness.

Im afraid i might have a prolapse if i dont get on top of this very soon.

Of course its only been the past few years its REALLY reared its ugly head - maybe coinciding with hormones and early meno? I dont know as i cant blame everything on peri i suspect.

Thank you in advance for any help offered.

    Hi Ella,

Well menopause weakens them further so it wouldn't hurt to do some. I found some on you tube. It makes me laugh exercising along with some woman on there.

I've also been looking into getting a trainer there are lots out there.

But I think I may try jade eggs and do a bit of vaginal kung fu!

Basically exercising your pelvic floor is like when you have a wee and say if you stop going to wee half way through those muscles you squeeze to stop the wee are your pelvic floor, so imagine doing that obviously without weeing when you do it as this could cause an infection. I beleive there is a new thing on the internet to help with the pelvic floor too! X

Thanks guys. But can you really cause an infection by practising contracting muscles? That's terrifying. I thought there were some exceptions when doing them but wasn't sure what they were sad

      Hi Ella,

I think they say once you have learnt to stop the flow of urine and you know what muscles you are using, then not to keep stopping the flow any more.

Once you have isolated the muscles and you know what you are doing do them with am empty bladder.

The only worry about infection is when keep stopping the flow.
