i went to the doctor today to see about this thing on my penile shaft, it turned out to be a cyst, now he referred me to a urologist but didnt seem worried about it, the waiting list is very long, any ways to remove it or make it less visible

If it actually is a cyst they are easily removed, some men sort these for themselves - but I would not recommend that in case you cause an infection. Cysts do eventually fade away but can take 5 months +. Best thing is not to irritate it at all as this will only enlarge it.
If you know how your's was caused, such as adverse pressure applied to an erect penis, then this is what you need to avoid doing ......
