I know technically cataract operation is no big deal but the consequences and choices definitely impact quality of your future life. Wife is at work and some stupid woman who works in the same building started grilling my wife about what all the fuss is about!
My wife has not had any discussion with this stupid woman about her eyes nor gone to her for advice.
Yet she was acting like she is the surgeon and was trying to impose her views on my wife. Her friend had cataract operation done few years ago so she thinks she is an expert and everyone should do what her friend did!!!!!!
This friend of her had thick glasses all her life, so completely different situation. She was telling my wife I don't know why you just don't do both eyes for far and just wear glasses always like she herself does. My wife said surgeon is trying his best to make me as less dependant on glasses as possible and most likely I will need glasses anyway.
Wife said doing fitness with glasses is not easy for an instructor. This person was becoming angry and worked up towards my wife. Stupid lady and her friend have never worked out and the only workout they do is going to McDonald's! As if my wife does not have enough on her plate!
Funny thing is that this same lady makes such a fuss when it is anything about her own health or her family's health.
For me, more stressful than cataract has been the way people act!!!!!
Anyway, CHILL deep breath!!!!!!

Oh yes, these people are everywhere, I have had to defend my choice of iol several times, why don´t you just do this or that, you are crazy to spend that much money on premium lenses and so on.
Not what we need when we are already stressed and have doubts of our own.
But I am sure your wife will proof this women wrong, when she sees, how well your wife´s result turns out! 😃

In general I have a thick skin and am really good and dealing with such people but my achilles heel is anything that concerns my wife, then I take it personally lol
Wife is like a Bambi in a world full of hyenas 😃
I don't want to prove anything to that stupid lady but boy I do hope everything turns out ok! Just needed to let steam out!

It sounds to me like this woman has WAAAAY too much time on her hands if she feels it's her mission to advise others on lifestyle choices! FWIW, they're everywhere...sadly.
It's very possible to no longer be dependent on glasses; I should know. Maybe you'll have excellent results, maybe you'll have good results, but whatever happens, results are individual and can't be predicted to 100% accuracy. As for Ms. Buzybody, maybe your wife should bring in some treats and toss them at her. It shuts my pooches up for a little while 😉
