Peri menopause and difficulty eating..

Does anyone ever struggle with eating food? thanks to perimenopause and the nasty symptoms it creates.
I know this might sound crazy to some of you, but I sometimes find myself over chewing food... then struggling to swallow it.. thanks to the horrible anxiety that peri causes and unnecessary stress..
has anyone ever experienced this??

Hi Stacy... I have found anxiety and stress to be the root problem for me. When I feel relaxed it isn't as big an issue and I can deal with it much better.
I've never experienced anything like this in my life ever. I could eat anywhere and with anyone without any problems but since peri it's become more difficult.
Almost like I am more aware of my eating/chewing etc it's total madness.
How do you deal with it?

it seems my symptoms from peri change often. For months I dealt with air hunger and after visiting ER, doctor, cardiologist, etc.....it was chalked up to anxiety. This new symptom is worse because I didnt think it was a symptom of peri until seeing so many others dealing with the same unusual nuissance. I have noticed that it is worse with stress and I dont even realize Im stressed. The worst happens at night. I have noticed a hot bath helps. Ive also started drinking chamomile tea at night to help with insomnia. my symptoms so far have been insomnia, heart palpitations, air hunger, difficulty swallowing, and increased mucous. Also, chewing gum when I feel that throat sensation helps too. Hopefully this will soon pass.
