Perianal haematoma

I gave birth 4 weeks ago. Two weeks ago I began to feel quite sudden, intense pain in my anus. A couple of days later I felt a lump in the on the edge of the 'hole'. When I looked on the mirror there is a lump about the size of my little finger nail which has a blue tinge to it. I phoned the GP the next day and had a phone appointment. He said it was a perianal haematoma and would resolve on it's own in a couple of weeks. The pain subsided over the next few days, but the lump is still there, same size and colour. Everything I've read online says it should be resolved within two weeks. Anyone have any experience of this? Should I be going back to the GP. I'm a bit worried that no-one has actually looked at it. Thanks.

Hi, by your description I have exactly the same thing but no pain yet. Went for a botox injection on wednesday for my anal fissure. Noticed the lump today. I will call my surgeon tomorrow. Read that a haematoma can occur from minor trauma to the area so that's what I'm hoping for.
