Perimenopause

Hi all.   I'm not sure if  it's starting.  I have anxiety which I have had for about ten years,  but has got worse the last few months.  I have headaches, itchy skin on my elbows, muscle pain in my legs and feeling tired. The worse thing is what could be hot flushes.  Not to the point where I sweat,  just feeling warm which is uncomfortable.  I take Pregabalin for the anxiety and also take Mirtazapine for sleep.  I wanted to ask if anyone takes medication and also any herbal remedies. I did ask my doctor about them but they said they wouldn't recomment it. And I'm sure some meds can't be taken with some remedies. I haven't seen my doctor about it yet and some can just pass it off as only anxiety.

    Hi Swanscity,

?I know how you feel as I also suffer with headaches and the horrible hot flush uncomfortable warm feeling. I've been in peri since 2013 and I currently take St Johns Wort for the anxiety and a herbal menopause tab called Harmony which I take at night to help me sleep.

    Take care

I take the prescription medicines.  Which I don't want to  be on.  It's awful I can't take certain medicines.  Like now I have a sore throat and cold,  which I can't take Night Nurse as I take a sedative at night.

I know what you mean, I also have high bp which I have medication for which also means there are a lot of medicines I can't take, that's the main reason I am trying the herbal path, my GP was happy for me to try herbal to see what works & what doesn't as he didn't want to put me on any hrt.
