Photos, your thoughts if Herpes diagnosis was accurate.

hello EVERYONE

I found some pics from my outbreak 8months ago. I was diagnosed by a doctor overseas during a bcakpcking trip and the doc just looked at me and said it was herpes, later i came back home to the states got tested via blood (re-tested twice in 6 month lapse) and it was HSV1, negative for hsv2 luckily but id like to hear your thoughts because i never developed oozing blisters and this entire outbreak lasted about 6 full days, mild mild outbreak compare to most websites that state outbreaks can last up to 2 weeks. I did get medication on the third day so do you guys think this was the reason the outbreak was so short?

the photos below reflect worst part of the outbreak, it was mainly on the right side of the vag lip and not inside, only outside. would like to hear your opinions and if your lessions were similar to mine. thanks

visually it does look like herpes so I can see why the doctor said it was. and your blood test was good to indicate this wasn't hsv2. and you haven't had an outbreak for 8 months? are you on daily suppressive therapy? if not then that's more evidence leading to hsv1 because hsv2 is more recurring in the genitals.

      Hi Regret

      thanks for your response.

I dont take suppressive therapy, the only time I took medication was during my first outbreak and luckily I havent had another outbreak apart from my first.

My boyfriend has HSV1 too but in the mouth and hasnt had a coldsore in over 10yrs, we have been having unprotected sex and so far we have had no issues but sometimes I am afraid that if I shave I might awaken the virus. So I am constantly paranoid, I actually feel like I gave my self herpetic whitlow because every few months I get this little bumps on my distal phalangeal and looks identical to herpes but doesnt blister it just stays as bumps. this freaking virus has changed my life, and i really hope people get over the stigma because the mental strain is definetly the worst part.

that is good that you have had no breakouts with no antivirals. since he has it orally you can't transmit it to his genitals. herpetic whitlow is unlikely. right try and relax and I know that is very hard to do. hsv1 is really not much concern and rarely recurs. I suggest you try and shave again and try to ease back into your life.
