Pins and Needles like pain sensation when hot

for the last 6 months or so whenever I heat up whether it be from exercise or entering a warm shop i experience a pins and needles like sensation which caused me to itch and can sometimes be painful. The sensation subsides fairly quickly once ive cooled down and doesnt happen any other time. I am familiar with the term heat rash or prickly heat, but i dont have any rash anywhere on my body. could it still be heat rash? my skin isnt dry either, this sensation also seem predominant on my scalp, face and torso and less so in my arms and legs? it recently has bothered me more so as the weather gets hotter. anyone else have any idea what this could be?
