Pleas Help! What is this?

Usually I get one bump which I've always thought was a pimple or ingrown hair. I get terrible folliculitis when I shave, so I tend to stay away from shaving. However, I noticed that when my hair gets longer is when the bump tends to show up. It is always only one bump and has shown up on either side. I have been tested recently for HSV but that was negative. This time, I noticed more pimple like bumps and starting tweezing hairs/digging for ingrowns, which is why the areas are so red/bleeding. I have never had any other symptoms of HSV. No fever, no discharge, no tingling, no ulceration of the wound, and they never crust over. Has anyone else had something similar or know what this could be? I have an appointment, but there is no fluid discharge to be swabbed for an accurate test

UPDATE, Doctor said it didnt look like herpes but swabbed anyways. Just waiting on reaults.
The bumps appeared on Thursday and I got my period the following day. I do regularly get a pimple on my face right before my period starts. It is now Monday and the bumps are pretty much gone. except for one that i was messing with because I thought there was an ingrown hair that I could see. Could this just have been pimples/cystic acne associated with my period? Would an STD have cleared that fast without any treatment?

thats great news! The pimple left could be left as you messed with it yes, might be irritated or infected. it will fade away soon too!

Thank you for the reply! I have only been with 1 person for over 10 years, but you never know what could happen.
Even though the doctor said that they do not look like herpes, I will be anxious until the results are received. There are just so many different possible things and the symptoms are all so similar. The part that makes me think pimple instead of herpes is that i never had flulike symptoms, no bump/opening lasted longer than a week, always happens right before my period, no tingling or buzzing, no itching, no smell, no discharge, no burning when I pee, and no crusting. I feel like it heels as a pimple would on my face after being popped.
Getting others thoughts and opinions on what they think can be helpful.

pleeeease update on swab results. we see open sores and it's so panicking, we cant help but think the worst. to me, they dont appear herpetic
