I have been on Mirtazapine for a number of years. I did gain a little(10lbs)of weight initally but the weight has come off.If you took yourself off the drug, hope your doc knows. There are a number of antidepressants that don't have sexual side effects.Ask your doc and see what he(she) recommends.

I take viagra for my sexual side effects but I am also on a number of other drugs. I buy it on a website because it is so expensive. You won't gain weight with some of the

other antidepressants. If you want to know more contact me. Wildflower

hi wildflower thanks for your reply unfortunately i cant pm you as i would of liked because i have a couple of questions for you if you dont mind answering them , the first do you no the names of the antidepressents that dont have the side effect of sexual disfunction ? if so could you tell me what they are please , and also could you please tell me the site where you get the viagra from too please as it is too expensive here in England UK too i also suffer from severe anxiety and panic attacks too , but if you can get back to me that would be great many thanks.

woody I don't know if this web site will allow me to post the site that I buy viagra from.If you have a e-mail address that would work fine. Prozac doesn't have that particular side effect. If I listed more it might be for not because one drug will have side effects for one person but not for another.

It's pretty much trial and error much of the time.Stan

Hi Woody, have you tried sertraline ? as far as i know most anti dep can cause sexual dysfunction, i am on sertraline and this has happend to me, also when i was on prozac that was the same. I have read that mirtazapine is one that does not interfere as much but in your case it does. I guess that every one is different.

hello again stan and charlies girl i no i shouldnt put my email up for the world to read but i cant pm you for some reason so heres my email , if i get any dodgy emails i will just change it , so i hope you can now email me , i have been on prozac for 4 years and couldnt have a sex life to me they were the worse of them all i did say mirtazapine was bad on that count too , but i wasnt concentrateing , what i meant to say was mirtazapine is the only anti-depressent ive been on since i was 18 im now 31 that dont mess your sex drive up , but they didnt help at all with depression , i also have anxiety and panic attacks everyday so my doctor tries to put me on an anti-depressent that also helps with anxiety and panic attacks , so if any of you no what anti-depressent that can deal with my neads and that dosent screw my sex life up then either email me or put a posting on here , many thanks ,

    Ricky.

As the other guys have said, dont give in to your thoughts. I have been on Mirtazapine for 2 weeks and seem to feel much worse in the morning...anxious...selfharm thoughts etc. I am also taking a low dose tranquiliser 1mg which seems to help. Go back to your doctor as your kids need you and you have seen already the effect....this is the thing that keeps me going.

    all the best
