I'm very new to this site and was diagnosed with acid reflux about 12 months ago. At first I thought I was having a heart attack in bed as I had a pain in my chest then my left arm. After seeing the doctor they told me about it being acid reflux and perscribed me 20mg of omerprazole which is now down to 10mg. I have had the Endoscopy but was told that there were no problems. I would just like more information really as the doctor is not telling me anything , I have it where there is a feeling from my stomach that pulsates up the body and even in to my head and my arms feel very light. At night when trying to sleep I even get a problem where I cough due to waking up where can't breathe for about 20 seconds which is very scary. My wife is due to give birth any day now and it is getting to me that bad that whilst away on a course with work I even had a panic attack in the car due to these symptons and had to call an ambulance as seriously thought was dying, which I know sound daft. I would just like some reassurance for when my baby is here as I want to stop worrying about what will happen. Please can someone help.

[quote:710618d87c=\"vicky603\"]Hi sorry to hear about your trouble, i've only been suffering for 2 months and it is horrible. As a busy 23 year old mum with 2 children i just want to get better quickly, but i know its a long slow process. First of all don't feel silly, i've also had a panic attack and on several occcasions have been in floods of tears thinking i'm dying. I get pain in my chest particulary on the left hand side and pain in my stomach, and also pressure on my left ribs(thinks its my tummy swelling causing pressure). I have had ultrasound, chest x ray and blood tests so doctor is convinced it is acid reflux, though i dont get heartburn like most people which worries me. Waiting for endescope which should be clear as i'm on 40g nexium daily. I get headaches and dizzyness. Please let me know if this helps in anyway...your not alone and try not to read too much as it makes u feel worse when ur sysmptoms are not \"normal\" eg heartburn rather than chest pain.[/quote:710618d87c]

[quote:364d29d8a5=\"vicky603\"]Yeah it is hard, i have an ecg to test my heart on Tuesday 16th but doctor is convinced it will be fine. Just wanted to ask do you often feel spaced out and dizzy? Doctor has told me this is pressure on the vegas nerve, but i find this so akward as i have a 3 year old and 16 month old who dont understand why i cant run around with them like i used to. I have lost 2 stone since 29/07/08 so hope this helps stop the reflux...just so sick of feeling crap all the time. Only good thing is I am not anxious anymore....just need to take each step one day at a time and hope we all get well soon. Its nice to know we aint going crazy or being a hypocondriac(if thats how it is spelt)....and good luck with baby.[/quote:364d29d8a5]

[quote:b9182e30c1=\"vicky603\"]Congrats on baby girl, bet your so proud. Hopefully things will just get better from now on for u. I will relax more when i've had my ecg and know its not my heart then i can start exercise again as i know i'll be doing no damage. I aint really tried to lose weight i'm just scared to eat too much so dont. Just wish i felt better for the kids, but i no longer feel the same fear that i used to feel everyday wondering if i'd see them grow up...i'm sure i will.[/quote:b9182e30c1]

[quote:e4e11eb1af=\"faithandcooper\"]i'm still feeling awful...going to ask doctor to test to see if it is anything to do with gluten...as it can be mistaken for acid reflux, just rules another thing out really. Had some blood tests taken last week and have my Ecg soon so by the end of next week might be a little further on. my tummy just feels so bloated and full and i feel sick all the time...fingers crossed something works soon. How is baby doing? Hope ur settling into fatherhood nicely....oh the sleepless nights, thats the only thing i dont miss about them being small.[/quote:e4e11eb1af]

[quote:b40b8c928a=\"vicky603\"]Thats great about baby.Bet ur glad she's not up every 2 hours as i've heard some can be, i was lucky my 2 were both good sleepers. all my blood results came back fine, and i will get my ecg results next week. been taking slippery elm and aloe vera juice for a week now and i feel so much better. The spaced out feeling has nearly gone, chest pain very rare now, still having stomach ache but hey cant complain about that really. Not sure if its cause i am more positive now and less worrieds about things. Good luck with new doctor....hope they help u out. Enjoy your wee baby when she's so small as they grow so quickly. My youngest is 16 months now really not sure where that time has gone[/quote:b40b8c928a]
