Post Afib why would my doc prescribe Eliquis?

My Afib was fixed via an ablation 5 years ago.  I have NOT had Afib in 5 years.  My ablation doc said take one 325mg aspirin everyday for the rest of your life.  NOW my new heart doc says he wants me on Eliquis.  After three 24 hour holters over 5 years, a few ECGs several docs listening to my heart at various time not one afib issue was noticed/recorded...  Why would anyone in their right mind to a poison like Eliquis to prevent a remote possibility of a stroke when No synths of Afib exist?

    That's a good question. I'd get a second opinion.

I'm guessing age and prevention. Don't have any blood clots ? I'm on pradaxa for life but that's for blood clots. From what I understand from readings most are on anti coagulants for life for either condition.

Sounds like the Doc may think your blood needs thinning out for easier pumping through the heart if aspirin has been added to the mix, don't know,
