Post banding of piles help please.

I am nine days post banding of 2 piles whilst having a Colonoscopy. Dealing with a Thrombosis at present. Advised to ice it for a week. In a lot of pain. Is that natural at this stage of recovery and will it take long. I would welcome comments from anyone who has had banding. I despair of it taking forever to heal.

That is not very encouraging. I could suffer a few weeks if it got better entirely. I am afraid it might never get better. I will let you know in a week how it is progressing.

Believe it or not you will be fine and you recover hot baths really help with loads of sea salt sleep loads lots of laxative and rest u will get better I've had a halo in the NHS and piles banding privately I've recently paid for a private consultantion and my bleeding is coming from the scaring caused by the first halo I've felt inside and I can feel my anus canal is narrowed in one side and there it a line of scar tissue inside where I think they stapled the prolapsed pile back into my anal canal since banding my poops have been difficult to pass and covered in blood and mucus my surgeon said that the scaring from the halo causing bleeding and mucus is coming from the banded areas it's all gross I just hope the scaring is Definitely a scar and not something else that has been missed as it's very lumpy and rough like a hard pea

Hi Joola , sorry to hear of your discomfort . I've had 4 separate banding procedures done over the years , the last and 4th time I had them done , they did 7 bandings at one time . I have to say it was relatively painless , and i went back to normal activities within a few days . However the third time i had them done , I was in alot of pain for a few days . There doesnt seem to be any rhyme or reason for this difference in experiences , it just seems to happen sometimes . I would bet and hope that you should feel better in just a couple of days Joola . Good luck .

Thats only a small part of it lol . I,ve had 3 THD and a haemorrhoidectomy as well . The latter was what brought me to this site , as I had a hell on earth experience with mine , and ended up back in hospital 4 times after it in sheer agony ( in January ) . Still not over as I now have two surgeons with differing opinions and one of them wanting to do another op on me . One suspects I have had the wrong procedure done on me , and wants to do corrective surgery . It just gets better all the time , NOT !!
