I had the sensation of one leg being longer in hospital when I tried to walk. When I got home I had it measured and my operated leg is a good inch or more longer than my other. I am really struggling but the surgeon really isn’t bothered. So I am on my own.

Hi. Yes I think it's fairly normal. All the swelling has to go down and the new hardware seat itself and settle.

What did your surgeon say after surgery. Sometimes we do end up with leg length discrepancies.

    Hope all is ok.

On my op report it said my femur was small so they had to put the prosethic up higher. I don’t know if it will settle, nothing yet 9 weeks post op. I know it’s early days.  Apart from that it’s healing well.  I live in France , things are very different here. I am supposed to just accept it, the surgeon didn’t seem bothered. So I am hoping it will settle, not sure how though.
