Just over 2 years ago, I had surgery to remove gallbladder.
But I've still been having ongoing nausea, diarrhoea and gastro pains. I also have severe back pain, and at times it feels like there is pain in my heart.
Sought a second referral from a different consultant - he thought all my symptoms were just in my head. Why do consultants have to be so arrogant and dismissive? I mean, they don't know EVERYTHING
During this time, my GP sent me for a blood sugar test - and I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
Back to the hospital and I was persistent with this lazy consultant. A scan revealed I had spasms in my colon (IBS) and acid reflux.
Consultant is now patronising, giving me a bird seed type of diet sheet which he feels 'confident' will work for me.
I will be seeing him again in 6 months time...

Hi hey London:. I had my gallbladder out last Feb 2017. I also have diabetes type 2. I still have the diarreaha and nauseau sometimes and the gas pains.. I was told by my surgeon to watch the greasey and acidy foods for awhile. Since we don't have a gallbladder anymore some foods will go right through you and some won't. I get the heartburn sometimes and when that happens I have a cup of warm tea or a cup of peppermint tea and that usually helps.I also get constipated sometimes too with some of the foods. It's normal. Just becareful with the foods and oh with your diabetes type 2, you are allowed to have some sugar but not to much. My GP and pharmacist told me if I cut the sugar right out my body will do some kind of shutdown. We'll take care and keep in touch.

Hi iris58334
Thanks for your reply.
Do you also have on / off pancreitis?
I feel trapped in a vicious circle and disturbed sleep. The worst part is my consultant keeps on patronising me 'the more you think about it, the more convinced you will be that something's still wrong'.
Try telling that to my body; I go from diarrhea to constipation, pain under left ribcage and back, I can't go out for a meal becos the food goes through me and then I suddenly can't hold.
Pre gallbladder surgery I resigned from my job. I can't even manage volunteering as I can't commit to a set time due to unpredictability of gastro problems. I've really lost my confidence...

Hi Beenthruit.
Thank you for your reply.
My consultant has advised me to cut out dairy, pasta, bread, noodles, potatoes 'too much starch'.
Also told to avoid oranges, grapefruit, lemon, grapes, apple, watermelon and most citrus.
And a lot more...!
