I am now at 6 weeks post op.  Physical therapy continues twice weekly and home exercises daily.  I continue to push myself, sometimes more than I should.  Walking with no device assistance and with no limp.  Able to climb and descend stairs more as a "normal" person.  Yesterday achieved bend at 127 degrees and able to straigten leg to a 3.

Hi, I am Nikki, 45 had 10 previous operations and hopefully this is my last one! Like Jean I am struggling, can't bloody walk well. Problem with my thigh and hip. However I do feel like I have improved, I push myself with exercises.... My dining room is a mini gym! I have great bend and my knee is lovely and straight but still walk with a limp. I was back at work after 3 months, stupidly thought I would be back in 6!!

Long hard road and I think your idea is a great... I will add a few bits on to the other posts.

I am in week 14'  feel I have turned a corner pain wise.  i have been going out since coming home.  I am driving and loving it.  But bend is defying me!  I am doing excercise ball, little peddle thingy and am patient enough to keep going.  I will get back on my bike!

Great work Carol. I'm not quite sure how much of a bend is needed for everyday life. With getting on your bike soon you'll get more. Keep up the good work.

Hi Carol I am 22 weeks today and am also struggling a bit.  The knee is still stiff and swollen and although not particularly painful, it is frustrating as I feel I have gone backwards.  I had to stop physio therapy as she told me that the swelling was stopping me getting a decent bend - it was 95 for the first 10 weeks.  I had been carrying on exercising every day until I hurt my back about 4 weeks ago and things were going ok. I couldn't  exercise for a couple of weeks and my knee has certainly suffered for it. I will just keep at it and hope it improves. I just feel so fed up with it all. X

Please keep a little and often in your mind!  It doesnt matter about time.  Just slow and steady?    Onward and upward.
