to ken1955,

hello Ken, you had urolift done 2 1/2 years ago, are you taking any natural herbs to control the growth of the prostate? As you know, prostate will still grow even after stents. Did your urologist recommend any means to control the future growth? I am lucky that I did not have any problem after urolift except the 2 days after procedure. But I want to do something to control the prostate growth but not finastride. Does anyone do any study on this subject and want to share with fellow patients?

Hey Dan..  After I had the Urolift I was on no meds at all.  I do watch what I eat and I try to eat everything that is good for the prostate.  I don't know what happen but after the urolift my prostate got smaller.  My doctor does not know what happen either.  But I think it had something to do with the Ciprofloxacin 1000 MG I took for a month for a infection 9 months later.  I have a stricture just before the prostate and I have it check ever 3 or 4 month's.  2 month's after I had the infection I had to have a repair.  1 off the clips came off.  When he went in he put a new one in and tighten the other 3.  Been good even since.  I would do it again in a minute.  No other problems and no side effects..  Have a great day  Ken

Hello Ken, thanks for your input, I am sure there are many patients that had urolift and like to hear what you said, the prostate grows small! I hope mine is same or does not grow any bigger. Do you think coprofloxacin did make this happen? Right now I am happy about the result, I do not need any pills but I was thinking about 1 or 2 years down the road, thanks for your input .

I believe that they grow saw palmetto in your neck of the woods. Have you seen it growing ? It is a very old remedy as the Native Americans used it.

I think they do but have not been looking or it.  My doctor told me to try this stuff with Rye Grass Flower Pollen in it.  I take it maybe 2 or 3 times a week trying to make them last  Ken  Cost me $90 for a bottle.

They use a lot of thing in Japan that we don't.  I just found out something today.  Did you know that the Prostate itself does not have any pain receptors.  Everything around it does.  I sent my doctor a e-mail today asking him they way when he tried to put the implant back on my prostate when it got loose it hurt like LLLLLLLLLLLLL.  Ken

So did mine.  I had one when I was 47.  13 needle one.  My urologist told me that when e-mailed me.  Waiting for a reply.  If not why does it hurt so much when it's touch.  Have a good evening   ken

dan64553  There is one recurrent line in the meatanalytical research regarding saw palmetto:  "RESULTS ARE INCONCLUSIVE."  I, myself, take it, though I'm not sure it's doing anything for me.  That's not to say that it won't do anything for you.  To the contrary, you may be one of those lucky guys who "swears by it."  I don't think it will shrink the prostate.  I don't think it will grow hair. These are pretty much urban legends.  There is, however, one company on Amazon who manufactures a megadose of it.  That particular product has the most positive reviews, and it's "Amazon's Choice."  You can find it without too much trouble.  Hope this helps.
