PRE-OP LAUGHS!
Posted , 6 users are following.
Just wanted to share my experience today. I'very been following, learning and sometimes commenting since I found this forum after my RTHR in May. Today was my hospital pre-op appointment for the other side. I had to fill in forms and one section was listening previous surgeries. For my May surgery I put RTHR. Well the nurse going through everything with me was sure I was a Dr or nurse - all of you have trained me very well!

Hi Fiona! That's too funny. I'm 9 days out of RTHR as well. I had so many questions and concerns in the first few days. I found this forum and love it. I had internal stiches, surgical glue and steri strips closing the incision. Today my PT came and I asked her to check it. I had a bit of oozing at the top under my ( belly fat) ??. It doesn't get any air. Lol!! She removed strips, treated area [ which appear ok, but I'm freaking out anyway], cleaned with disinfectant and bandaged oozy area. At any rate, I am doing great, hip feels amazing, I walk better with no pain and just keeping an eye on my temp to make sure I'm infection free. This site is very informative and helpful as you know. Thanks for letting me ramble!! ??????

I know, this forum made me feel so much better. We were provided with a booklet but it didn't cover oozing, swelling or bruising. It did address sex positions though - my greatest concern after surgery - LOL!??

Thanks Linda! I'm the 19th. I can't believe how fast this crept up on me. I'll be sure to post. My right leg is feeling very strong so I'm ready to go.
Good luck to you!
Fiona

so funny !!! I know, right ? amazing how this forum works - I found it when 20 days post-op from 1st THR...
with 2nd THR (6 months later) I felt I knew more than nurses in hospital -
as for the sex post-op THR, there are many discussions on this forum - but hey, come back here when you cross that bridge --
big warm hug

Yes wish I had thought of that. They did say we are not medically trained so we wouldn't know.
