Is anyone on pregabalin for anxiety ? If so how is it affecting you ?

I look forward to hearing from anyone as I started on this recently. Thanks

Started off taking 150mg for a couple of weeks then increased the same dose to twice a day, I feel a lot calmer but I feel as though it's taken a good month to really kick in , I feel really bloated on this med and will discuss this with my dr next week as I'm worried about gaining weight , how are you feeling on this med ?

How long have yo been on this medication? And have you gained any weight? How did you get on at the Drs ?

I only started on the meds about three weeks ago I lost a lot of weight with the anxiety and I need to put some on my appetite has increased but I haven't gained weight yet. I hate the other side effects fuzzy head and tiredness. I would love to come off them but they are controlling my anxiety and I know they would need to beThe Dr I saw was not my regular Dr but I told her about the side including bloated feeling she just suggested getting something like Senna for constipation I asked if the side effects would reduce she just said it is a strong medication. I do exercise but I really have to force myself to do it, I still don't want to do much. How about you how long have you been on what other side effects do you have. Take care thinking of you

I have been taking them for about a month, but reduced them in the last week as I feel so bloated , I also take Prozac 60mg daily this has really lifted my depression and got me really motivated to get back to the gym, I will see my dr on Monday to discuss my medication, I feel like I'm on the right track but have good n bad days and it doesn't help that I suffer with severe PMS being the reason I started these meds in the first place, I will let you know how I get on, Anxiety really is an awful thing to cope with and hard to explain  to some one that's never suffered with it , my heart goes out to you , and it's been great to find this website, let me know how you get on , take care.

Hi Sara, I am on 40mg Seroxat and 200 mg Pregabalin daily, I do go to the gym and swimming but  I have to really push myself the fuzzy head and tiredness lasts all day so I have to keep fighting it. I tend to get bloated feeling after eating. The Dr I saw yesterday was not very helpfu

so I spoke today to my Dr to ask if I can reduce the Pregabalin to 150mg and he's agreed. I agree anxiety is so debilitating and whilst the pregabalin reduces the anxiety the side effects are awful. Good luck with your Dr hope they give your support to help with the bloating.

Hi Sara , Great to hear from you, it's good to hear that you are on reduced dose have recently reduced from 150mg to 100mg a day as I was feeling so tired. I still sleep a lot at night I can do more in the day but my energy level is not as good as it was. I do some sort of exercise every day eg Zumba, Swim or Aerobics to try to build up my energy again. My anxiety is not too bad and I am less bloated. I still have to push myself to get things done I used to be highly motivated so I'm working on my motivation. I'm having counselling every week but hoping to get CBT soon.

It sure is a long road but I truly hope you will keep moving forward. Best Wishes to you

Thank you for your message, I am taking also 60mg of Prozac which has made a huge difference to my energy and motivation, I take this in the morning with pregablin, I have also been having CBT therapy which I've found helpful , I've been referred to a specialist from my Dr which has made a difference to the medication I've been offered, I had gone to the Dr's for nearly a year when I'd had enough and insisted on being refered , Drs were useless , my specialist has mentioned a 3rd med I could take for anxiety at a low dose called Flupentixol (prob spelt wrong lol!)  which is an anti psychotic (sounds scary) but at 1mg is supposed to be a mood stabiliser, I'm considering trying it when I come back from my holidays as I don't want to start new med so near to my holiday incase of side effects, I'm sure your motivation will come back , are you taking an anti depressant if so at what dose ? Wishing you all the best ??
