Prolapse probs

Hi, I'm 4 weeks post op for bladder, rectal prolapse, plus vaginal vault prolapse, all seems to be well, discharge almost gone, though the past 2 days I have been getting pain in the outer vagina, vulva area, painful sitting down, should I be concerned or is this normal. Thank you in advance

    Hi Eliza,

I had anterior and posterior repairs. I know that I still had discomfort around week 4, anyhow matron should be on forum soon and will know best if there is anything to worry about. I am 8 weeks post op and can still only sit upright for a couple of hours and start getting sore.

The fact your discharge has stopped must be good; if you weren't healing you would surely still be dischargeing.

You could always phone your GP and ask to speak to someone on phone as they will be able to put your mind at rest.

Hope things get better soon, rest plenty and stay horizontal whenever you can.

    Phyl 💖

Hello Elizap. The pain you describe is perfectly normal because as you heal you get this pain caused by tightening of the wound. The sutures will also tighten so you can expect this for the next few weeks.
