Hi , have recently been prescribed Propranalol 10mg if needed for anxiety , I'm not taking them constantly but found after taking one , the following day I suffered awful hot flush sensations ? Also feeling quite anxious the day after but not saying it's the tablets. The hot flushes are awful but as I'm also on low dose citalopram I wondered if it could be that but Ive been on it 3 weeks. The hot flushes make me feel anxious as its very uncomfortable feeling and they hit me all of a sudden. Thank you

Monitor having no propanolol and see if you still have hot flushes.
Then the next time you have a propanolol see if you have a flush.
The other thing to consider is you age. Are you peri menapausal ?
Once you have all of this see what you think it may be and discuss it with your doctor. No point in continuing with medication if you suffer awful hot flush sensations when there may well be a suitable alternative with no hot flushes.
Hope you feel better soon with less anxiety.

Thanks for the reply , I'm 42 , I do feel hormonal a lot but I was tested for menopause and told it wasn't that.
I will try a few days without Propranalol and see how it goes. I'm
Continuing with the citalopram (only on a low dose) for now. Anxiety has been very bad lately. Worse since starting citalopram . Thank you

You are young and you've had the blood test so that ones ruled out.
Have you thought of trying CBT along with the medication. It works well. Its worth a try if it can ease your anxiety symptoms and make you happier. At the end of day we all want to be happy. Easier said than done. I hope your anxiety improves and a great big hug to improve your day. There are lots of lovely people here who will be empathising with you. You are not alone. It might seem a struggle but the anxiety will improve.

One time I went to throw ER. it was definitely an anxiety attack. When I first started Citalopram things were worse and I was more anxious. I have used my CBT and I no longer gets the inner hot flushes.
I was given Clonaxepam and it is awesome. I know it is addictive but I am training my brain to ignore all the small symptoms that still creep up at times.
Just know things will get better and ease up.

Hello , thanks for the reply , yes that's what it's like an internal hot flush but I've only really noticed it since starting citalopram and Propranalol , I was at the hospital last night because I felt so bad and had constant anxiety for 48 hours and just couldn't take any more, the citalopram has definitely increased the anxiety but I'm told to try and stick it out longer
