Sounds exactly like bacterial prostatitis to me.  Doesn't often show up in urine test.  Mine didn't.

Exactly the same symptoms as me. I have been dealing with it for about a year - year and a half now (which is nothing compared to some on here)

I had all checks done which came back negative. I have had camera inserted up urethra twice but nothing. My semen culture test has been done and is currently waiting to be analysed by specialist (should get results tomorrow). I suffer from real bad back and stomach pain with the dribbling and discomfort etc.

I have recently been signed off from the urologist as they have told me to 'live with it' and that there is nothing else they can do as I have been on so much. They have told.me that I probably know more about Prostatitis than them which is really concerning as they are meant to be the specialists.

All I would advise bud is to keep strong. Remember this isnt life threatening and there are plenty of people going through this with you. Try and keep active with exercise and look at methods of controlling the pain or urges (really amazing people and advice on here).

I have recently started taking natural medicines such as Quercertin and Saw Palmetto. Really helping with stronger urine flow and getting most of it out in one visit.

If you need any advice or just chat I am always about if you want to PM or there are many others on this site that are lovely and willing to send advice.

    Take care

that's kind of you Daniel today is not so bad but I can still fell it iv cut down on fluid intake and do limit myself to 2L tops per day.and yes I agree I think I probably knoe more about all 4 typs than my own uro and doc for that matter. I can deal with all symptoms exept this urge that's 24/7 guess ill have to get these cultures done and see if they find anythink I have a doctors appointment Monday..

I had to fight so hard to get the semen test approved. I went through at least 4 specialists who all turned me away. Luckily, the last GP was from Africa who told me that a semen test was the first thing doctors do out there in regards to Prostatitis (send patient for semen tests). He said he was shocked that when he came to England he was told to not put people forward for it as urine and bloods were enough (which he disagrees with).

I have read that some people with Prostatitis have found that the semen test flagged problems and was quickly addressed with correct medication. No harm in trying.

      Good luck bud

iv already been refused a psa to diagnose prostatitis so presume the semen and prostate fluid culture will be a fight to get but I wnt be taking no for an answer I'm not sure they understand how much this effects quality of life.. bearing in mind this has now been 5 months or so surley the longer left untreated the harder to actualy treat it becomes.. might look in to some Chinese herbal meds as herd there pretty good.. but first I want a clear diagnosis of prostatitis before poppin mad pills lool...

My semen culture tests came back all clear. So I guess I am back to square one with no answers. I have an enlarged spleen and tested 'weak positive' for nuclear immune in blood test? So waiting to see hematology regarding this. May be this will provide answers.

Just thought I would update regarding semen test!

I'm no medical expert but I had a similar problem and believe it or not but I went to a specialist and he found that I was drinking far too much water and he told me to keep all my fluid intake to under 2 litres a day. It was very difficult in the beginning as I was constantly thirsty, but I found that he was right. He told me that the modern thing of going everywhere with a bottle of water leads to people drinking far too much water and it makes a person more and more craving for water with the result that you have to urinate every now and then. I hope this might be a kind of a solution for you're problem.

All of the other comments might be useful to you. I just wanted to add don't let them give you Ciprofloxacin - it's normal for them to prescribe it for 4 weeks but it may well ruin your life.  See the discussions on the fluoroquinolone antibiotic thread - so many young men damaged after taking it and other fluoroquinolones.

The alternative in the NICE guidelines is Trimethoprim for 4 weeks.  Ask for this instead.  If a doc says my warning is rubbish and side effects are very rare suggest the doc looks at the FQ discussions.  It's only rare because doctors don't believe in it so they don't report it so it's rare!
