I am new here and any form of help would be appreciated. I have been taking Tamsulosin for about 4 to 5 years. Before and after the festive period I was not taking my Tamsulosin regularly. Could this be the reason. Always had a weak stream but the last few days I have been having even weaker streams. I would usually wake up 3 times a night. Last few days am not getting up to wee. Another symptom is that my stomach is distended/bloated and I am feeling very very uncomfortable. Not having regular bowel movements too. Coz of the bloated feeling I am frightened to have my meals. Anxiety has gone through the roof. Would appreciate if someone can tell me why this is happening. Thanks

Hello! Sounds like it's time to visit the urologist again. I had a situation similar to yours when I was on Tamsulosin to try to get my prostate to open up. At one point, even with the meds, the bladder was retaining much more urine than before, putting pressure on my rectum which was preventing me from pooping very much. This in turn led to a feeling like constipation where I was all backed up. All this at night, mind you, when the body isn't supposed to be peeing and pooping. Glad I got past that time....

Thank you. I have been asked to do blood, urine and stool tests this week. Will have to wait for a scan. I am a worrier. Should I go to A&E or wait. I am peeing but little but often, may be 7- 8 times. Bowel movements are every other day. Have not been eating very well ciz of the bloated feeling. More than anything the anxiety is worse.

      Thanks for replying.
