PROTONIX (Pantoprazole) and nausea? - 23, GERD and LPR

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to firstly thank you for taking your time in reading this,

I was wondering if Pantoprazole causes nausea. I am currently on my second month with it (40 mg morning 40 mg night) and I get sick 3/4 times a week with (i wake up feeling slightly sick and feel so until the evening, then it seems to go away).

2. I wanted to ask if it's normal that I have some symptoms left even though ive been taking panto for almost a month now. My gastric headaches are almost completely gone which is great, however, I still have this odd sick/nauseated feeling. And at times I have chest pains which I never did before (im more on the silent reflux spectrum apparently).

3. I lastly wanted to know if you're sensitive to certain odors as well?;

Thank you for your help!

Sara

    Hi Sara, I would recommend you go back to your doctor and he should give you something for nausea probably motiliom you could also ask about a different ppi for the reflux, I'm on 30mg lanzaprozole and it helps but not 100% .

    I take it you had an endoscopy to see if your oesaphagus is ok?

      Hello Joseph,

      thank you for your reply

      Yes I did have an endoscopy, I have esophagitis class A (LA grade) and gastritis-erythematous

      this was a month ago, do you think the nausea related problems  originate from there?

      I already tried omeprazole and it gave me horrible headaches

    Hi Sara maybe if you spoke to a dietician and change your diet to compliment your medication and make it more tolerant without the nausea and other issues. My problem is continious reflux for hours after eating and I must sit and relax for a couple of hours and travel is a definite no no until my food is properly digested. It also takes me at least an hour to eat my meal which is not ideal when eating out. Maybe that could be affecting yourself and feeling nausea?
