Hi Monica, it will take a while for the meds to kick in properly. I would suggest taking 20mg for at least 12 weeks as that is when meds start taking full affect. I'm at week 13 on 40mg and I'm not 100% but each day is getting better and better. If you feel after that time meds are not working, speak to your GP.

I suffer with anxiety and depression. Have had intrusive thoughts and feeling very low. Felt so ill and didn't eat. Had the shakes and headaches. Back burning like it was on fire. With these meds unfortunately you have to get worst before you get better. But there is that positive side after weeks as you start to feel yourself. Hope all works out. God bless

If your GP wants you to up the dose, perhaps give it a try. I was so scared going up a dose but I did it. I will say for myself I feel much better than I did before.

It will feel like starting over the first 4 weeks but give it time. You can do this smile.

Let me know how you get on.

      God bless x

The dose you have been increasing on has been so minimal that I am not surprised you have not felt much difference. I was on 20mg for about 6 weeks before I increased dose. It might be the case that you need a higher dose and do not be scared by that. I have no idea why people are so scared to increase the dose.. the hardest part is starting to take them the first time.

People seem to all expect a miracle on anti depressants.. it reminds me of weight loss.. everything takes time.. even though it feels like forever!

Thank you.My past experience was with celexa and in two weeks I was 100 percent so it just scares me that I am not improving much but if you think I can still improve over time and on a higher dose I will try to hang in there.

I was on celexa for 16 years. This is such a different medication. It takes its sweet time to get into the system. So try not to compare them as it will save you a lot of stress.

I didn't even see any results until 5 months. Lol 6 weeks is too short to see results I would say. Also I had very bad side effects for awhile bad thoughts. Feeling terrible everyday. Weird feelings in my neck and back. Brain zaps. So much. It all went away like around 5 months
