PVCS all-day every day wrecking my life!!Anyone else??

Hi I'm just wondering if there is anyone else out there that has this problem? Im 27 usually active quite healthy aside from asthma & for the last month I've had pvcs from the minute I wake up to the minute I fall asleep sometimes it gets to the point of every few beats I'll have one, I literally can't take it anymore I'm so scared to do anything. I've had countless amounts of emergency room visits for it and been told I'm fine but somewhere I don't believe it and I'm expecting the worst. they get so bad to the point I get dizzy short of breath and sweaty. They say my ecgs are fine my bloods are unremarkable and xrays are normal. so don't know what is causing them. I'm so scared I can't live like this much longer.

I'm so glad i found this forum. Same thing going on with me. I have had these skipped beats off and on for 30 years. never with any answers. now i am 51 and last week they came on out of the blue and i'm having some sort of episode of them still happening. About one every 10 seconds. it is so unsettling. i got an EKG which showed PVC's. Tomorrow i am getting an echocardiogram. These things are making me short of breath! of course at this point its caused anxiety and now i am on some sort of loop i guess.

i exercise, meditate, and eat healthy. Barely any caffeine and no alcohol. i just don't understand . moving around feels better than trying to sit still cause it's so much more noticable. ugh!

I posted about two months ago with debilitating PVC''s lasting 24/7 during my episodes. I've had two ablations and tried two different meds, nothing worked.

I can understand everyone's concern and symptoms.

I would like to share a resent miracle for me with the hope it may help at least one or more people that's going/gone through what we are experiencing.

About a 5 weeks ago I made another appointment with my cardiologist (because I was so desperate) and he gave me a script for FLECAINIDE ACETATE 100MG twice daily. After the second day my PVC's were gone.

I feel like I'm reborn and have a great outcome. Before, i lost all hope for a cure.

I waited a solid month to post ensuring that it wasn't temporary or a fluke.

Wore a heart monitor for 24 hours and my PVC's went from 15% to 0.2%. Miracle!!

I hope and pray this post will help at least one person to feel normal and great.

I completely understand. I have these sometimes I will go months without having them and then out of nowhere I'll have a good chunk or it happens every day. I have severe anxiety disorder and bipolar and I'm sure my stress and my extreme mood changes make them worse. make me feel a lot better reading all the stuff makes me feel like I'm not alone by myself. have had EKGs and holster monitors and they all say I'm fine. I would like to get a echocardiogram honestly. wouldn't even know how to go about it but it is definitely scary and it kicks up my anxiety and panic attacks which make it worse. feels like a never-ending cycle. I have to watch what I eat. certain things that I eat make it worse I'm so sorry you're going through this. I know how bad it sucks

Common thread in every PVC forum. #1. They scare the heck out of you. #2. All MDs say they are harmless and don't worry about them. #3. People with PVCs pass virtually every test they are given with flying colors and are told to go home, nothing is wrong. #4. Most of those people sooner or later end up in the ER, sure they are dying (and are sent home). So what we here we have a "disorder" which no one knows why we get them or how to treat them. So what can we do? MDs say forget them. That is impossible. I suggest develop a plan. It may not work but at least there is cause for hope and if it does you should get a Nobel Prize. If it does not work at least you tried something. Here is my plan: Hope it helps someone. Let me know if you have other ideas:

I believe my PVCs are Gastro and stress driven – Anxiety leads to deepening depression and more stress which of course means more PVCs

*Vegas nerve is the likely instigator – Fix the gut – Fix the problem (diet, antacids, gatoraid, smaller meals, nothing spicy, lower salt and sugar)

When they are bad they are very 2 – 5 – 7 15 beats apart

Symptoms: Chest pressure, light headed, anxiety

Otten coupled with Allergy like symptoms, face swollen, eyes puffy, foggy mind

Stress drives adrenalin, adrenalin drives chemical reactions that stimulate and irritate the Vegas nerve

    Things that help me:

Relax, sit down and read, get mind off of stressors

    Tai Chi

Sing and Play Guitar - draw, read the Bible,

    Cough - Laugh

    “Ommmmm”. - chant. (Meditate/Pray)

    TAP - technique

    Light exercise (walk)

    Walk bare footed

#1: Take care of the gut and what you eat

Treat reflux - Nexium or Pepcid

    Keep Mylanta near

Walk, stretch and light exercise after meals

#2. PVCs are exaggerated with stress, PVCs cause stress (vicious cycle)

Use Stress reduction techniques (take supplements)

#3. Sleep disorders and sleep apnea

    • CPAP studies = 58% reduction in PVC

When I don’t sleep PVCs are worse

Current ingestible Treatments (these have not helped much to date)

Metoporol (elevating dose helps but with drop BP to dangerous levels)

Gaba 750 Precursor to Seratonin & L Theanine 100 (after 3 days I seem to have more PVCs)

    Potassium-Calcium-D3 & Magnesium (nothing changed)

    Curcumin (no change)

Reported to really help in other sites

    Acebutolol. 400mg 2x day

I sure hope you find something that works and you can share in the mean time:

"Can anyone with worry add even a single day to his life?" Matthew 6:25

This is a wonderful summary, Roger, and I love the way you've listed things. I think you are spot-on concerning causes, I've treated breathing issues at night by raising the head of my bed by 6 inches. It helps me breathe easier and given me better sleep. Double win. Seems to have helped. Thanks so much for this post.

    hello,

There have been some studies that if you have PVCs with no underlying health conditions that it could be from a Vitamin D3 deficiency. 2000 IU daily for 6 months I believe is the recommended doses. also a good magnesium supplement to go with it. As always though consult your primary care physician before taking any supplements.

    hope this helps

My sympathies, but I hope you are comforted to know that your are not alone 😃 I have been having frequent PVCs for over 2 years now, and I'm only in my early 40s. It worried me greatly as I have a terrible family history of heart problems, so I decided to get it checked out. I wore a 24-hour holter monitor which reported an ectopic burden of 13% of all beats. The cardiologist explained that <5% is green, 5-10% is amber and >10% was red, so my rate was excessive. However, I was not displaying any symptoms and the echocardiogram did not reveal any structural or functional issues apart from minor regurgitation. Based on that, my arrhythmia was deemed benign, however I was told that my excessive rate of PVCs could lead to heart damage in the long run if left untreated. We estabished that it wasnt caused by alchohol or caffeine, so I was given the choice of medication or ablation, and I opted with meds as a first measure. I was initially prescribed Beta Blockers but they did not work, so I moved on to Flecainide which has improved my condition significantly. I still get PVCs but much much less than I used to. So I'll be keeping an eye on it. Anyway from what I've been told, if your rate of PVCs is <5% then it is nothing to worry about but it doesn't hurt to get it checked out. All the best

I have always had PVCs and when I was younger I would have months of nonstop PVCs and then they would pretty much go away. In my 50s now and about 4 years ago had persistent constant PVCs, 3800 a day. Everything else looked ok structurally and they weren't concerned but I have anxiety and they made it 100 times worse, as you all know. My EP agreed to do an ablation. That seemed to make the majority of them stop, but after a a couple years I started having them again like crazy so went back in for another Holter and this time only 40 PVCs but now almost 4000 PACs! Can't help but wondering if the ablation had something to do with that. If not, it's quite a coincidence that I've never had PACs before and now having the same amount as the PVCs I had before. I don't get it. They feel just as miserable. After complaining for a bit they thought I should do a treadmill, though they didn't say why. I did not have any PACs during the treadmill which was weird, but the next day they came on like crazy again and that was a week ago and they are still going crazy. He said my treadmill looked "funny" and now wants an angiogram. Hoping there is nothing serious going on and that's what is causing the PACS. Ugh, I'm so over all of this!
