Questioning Rezum and its aftereffects

Yesterday was my 7 week point post-Rezum. I'm feeling pretty pessimistic about its outcome and wonder how common my situation is given the glowing reviews I read about the procedure everywhere.
--First of all, the treatment itself. My urologist REALLY yanked on my penis--presumably to create tension to allow for insertion of all the junk necessary for the treatment. Is this normal?
--I ask the above because after all this time I'm seriously beginning to wonder about nerve damage. I have not had even the inkling of an erection since Rezum. I often have--should I wake up at night--nightime erections or semi-erections. It's not uncommon for me to have a waking hardon in the morning or start to get one should I "handle" myself a bit. Not sure how to describe this but ya know how just the slightest stimulation--in the shower, for instance--will get even a small rise out of it? How when you squeeze those muscles down there you get a minor twitch out of it? I am experiencing none of these. My penis is seems to be getting only the minimum amount of blood flow to keep it from becoming necrotic.
--Full disclosure: I've been on ED meds for some time (all 3 of the major players). Twice in these 7 weeks I took a pill to see what would happen and NOTHING changed. Needles to say, I am extremely concerned and wonder if my doctor screwed me up.
--Beyond all that, I am still experiencing urge incontinence from time to time despite taking a med for THAT. My bladder doesn't seem to empty completely. Initiating urination can take more time than I'm comfortable with.
My wife is being extremely supportive and hangs on to the 2-3 month timetable we've found on various med websites but I am getting worried, as you might imagine. Does anyone here have thoughts on what I've described herein?

Hey Buddy
First of all the Urologist should not yank anything. To me I would consider that to be unprofessional.
You do not say how old you are. I'm 65 and have morning wood all the time. You should have something going on down there. You should have had something going on. I think you need to go to another doctor
Did it help you pee better. With you have getting erection I guess you have not had sex yet so you do not know if you have retro ejaculation. It happen more then you know
It seam like you are only getting very little going on and there should be something. If you took one of them ED pills you should have had some movement in that area. Something is not right
Did your doctor tell you that it can take up to 3 month's to see some improvement and and we have had men on here that it took them a year and they were still on medication and doing CIC,
I hope it get better for you. I would go see another Urologist. Something is not right
Have a good day Ken

Well, alrighty then...
First off, I did read somewhere a description of the penis being pulled during this in the context of providing enough tension to allow for insertion of...stuff. But boy howdy he did pull. I had a follow-up last week and brought up the impotence issue and my fear of nerve damage from the pulling and he pointed to his wall chart saying the nerve center in question was nowhere near where he was working.
I am (young) 67 and have been on ED pills for some time. But aside from that I have had normal erections outside of sex, i.e. night time and wake-up erections, plus the occasional randoms. I was experiencing retro ejaculation from the Tamsulosin I was taking before the procedure. This is something I'm not concerned about.
Well, I just looked at my original post and I pretty much ran down the list of my complaints there. Nothing's change since then. No point in repeating myself. Today is the 2 month point since my Rezum. Peeing is, I dunno, somewhat better but I'm certainly not where I thought I would be. As I said, I'm hanging my hopes on the potential of a 3-month timeframe. I have read about that else where.
As for a new urologist, yeah, it's crossed my mind. But how does one find one that one can trust? I've been going to this guy for maybe 2 years, maybe a little less. Never had any doubts about his competence. His office is in a good hospital. He belongs to a urologists group which I figured gave him SOME credibility. But yeah, since this experience I've been wondering.
Of course now I worry about permanent damage that some other doctor is powerless to reverse. Sometimes I feel like I've lost a limb.

Alan,
Do you know how many Rezum the doctor had done before yours ? The number they have done makes a big difference in experience. Some people on this website recommend finding a doctor who has done at least 50 of any procedure you want done.
One good thing about Rezum is that other procedures like TURP or epTURP can be done afterwards, if Rezum urinary results are not satisfactory.

Hey Buddy
It is up to you what you feel like and how the doctor does the treatment or procedure. When you go to a doctor each one will have a different result. Did you ask the doctor how many he did and what was the results that he has had. How many saw improvement and how many men ended up with retro. It happen more then not.
Maybe it will improve you never know.
Good luck and I hope it works out for you.....Ken

sigh...yeah, no, I didn't ask about how experienced he was at it. I guess my assumption was that Rezum had been around a few years now and, given the urology group he belonged to, there was plenty of opportunity to "hone his craft" as it were. That, coupled with my cynical inclinations in which I figure complete honesty on that issue would be a bit of a pipe dream anyway. I mean, I doubt he'd reply "oh, ya know, I've done it a couple of times." Plus, I'd done plenty of research beforehand and never came away thinking I'd need to worry about that. Then again, everything I'd read insisted Rezum had no negative impact on sexual performance, and here I am.
