Radial Keratotomy (27 years ago) - Now Cataract Surgery with Vivity Lens

Has anyone had a lens removed and replaced? And has anyone had radial keratotomy and now need cataract surgery? I had the Vivity Lens put in a couple weeks ago and due to the cuts in my eye from the RK years ago my distance vision is blurry because the measurements were not perfect. So my choice is to have lasik preformed or have the lens removed and replaced. I dont know what to do. My close-up vision is perfect though. He said there is a risk having the lens taken out and replaced but there is downtime with the lasik.

What is the status of your other eye? If it needs cataract surgery you may want to consider doing it with a monofocal distance lens, and leave your Vivity eye as is for closer vision. The hope would be that they don't miss the power on the second eye too...

Surgery on other eye is for Tuesday. I am so confused as to what to do. I will ask the eye doctor about the monofocal lens. I see him today at 1pm.

I've heard Lasik can have an error of as much as 0.5D but i do not know its that's true. If it is I think an exchange would have a more predictable outcome since I presume they know how much they were off by.

Personally I would not do an exchange if your close vision is good. why not see where the other eye's surgery winds up. if targeted accurately you could wind up with good close and intermediate vision and wear glasses for distance. There is always risk to surgery and more with an exchange.
