Hello I really hope someone can help me I’m a 27 year old female a while back I had started having pains under my right breast this has been going on for several years now about 7 or 8 I have had numerous test CT, Ultrasound,Hida scan even a EDG where they go down your throat all have come back “Normal” I went to the ER I say about a year or 2 back and the PA I said said my problem was a fatty liver... well I’m having the pain again it’s in my back and the side of my rib the pain in my back area is around my kidney area.. I do suffer from anxiety and have diagnosed myself with Polycisic Kidney disease I know that’s probably not the case but my anxiety tells me it is I also have Polycisic Overion Syndrome I’m not sure if that’s causing it my question is has anyone gallstones been missed? Or ever experienced pain in the back around kidney with gallstones I have spoken to a coworker who says hers were missed it took her OBGYN sending her for a stomach MRI to find her gallstones could this be my case? I really hope someone can help me

I would have thought that you need a good doctor who methodically goes through the process of finding if
there is any thing phisically wrong. There can be things wrong with the human body which are not severe enough to be diagnosed. Anyone can have effects on their body that is down to anxiety and we all know (if we admit it) that worrying about any symptoms we have make the symptoms worse.........
I believe everyone needs a good doctor and a good dentist and it is sometimes very difficult to get both.
You are quite young to have big problems but seeing a good doctor who can put your mind at rest if there is nothing to worry about must be the first step. One thing I've always asked myself is if I take a anti anxiety tablet do my symptoms go away? It is known that the muscles relax when an anti anxiety tablet is taken
& so if the body is in tension and causing all sorts of symptoms & then relaxes through medication then we can learn from that....... Stress can cause bodily symptoms which is a fact........ It's best to get to know your own body and that does take some doing. Best wishes

You need to see a gastroenterologist! You are NOT too young to have a diseased gallbladder and many of the symptoms you describe sound like that COULD be your problem. It took them three years to diagnose I needed my gallbladder removed but that was 15 years ago and I would hope they do a better job now. Even after mine was removed, I continue to have pain under my right breast, where my gallbladder used to be. When it is gone, bile "drips" into your stomach and it feels like you are having a heart attack if you cannot get rid of it. The doctor just removed 50cc's of bile from my stomach and put me on a prescription Omerprazole, 40 mg, which is a time released capsule to try to heal the inflammation in my stomach. You can buy Pepcid 20 mg over the counter and I think it might help you. But, you really need to see a gastro guy and SOON.

Thank you so much I myself take that medicine cause when I had the EGD they diagnosed me with Gerd. I went to ER one night and they said I had a fatty liver I hate going to the hospital or doctor just for them to tell me it’s nothing

I’m sorry to hear your troubles. My issues have been extremely similar to yours/your co worker.
I’m 25 now, had my gallbladder removed at 22, it took them 6 years to diagnose the gallstones and gallbladder disease. I had so many different investigations, laparoscopy, ultrasounds, the lot. Until one day I met a lovely radiologist who said she was going to scan right up to the top of my abdomen (all my previous docs thought gynae issues or appendicitis so hadn’t scanned higher up) turns out I had an inflamed GB and by the time they’d taken it out it was full of gravel like stones. Every doctor I meet says that I’m too young to have had gallstones, but clearly it happens. Of course, anxiety never made any of my symptoms better but trust your gut- if you think something is wrong with your body, there usually is.
Good luck- I really hope you get some answers.

I think after a while it really starts to affect your mood and makes you feel completely helpless in your own body.
Have you tried altering your diet? It could be interesting to see if eating a gallbladder friendly diet has any positive affects?

It seems that some of the patients/ sufferers on this forum do not have doctors who are experienced enough to be able to rectify patients problems..........
This day and age it seems that the medical profession is divided into more narrow specializing sections.
There are doctors out there that know what to do but finding a good one is not easy it seems.
I would have thought that it would be essential to first of all find what exactly is wrong with a patient!
If gall stones are diagnosed & it seems that ultrasound is the norm look into Ursodioxycholic acid which in some instances will dissolve them.
This fact seems to elude some doctors. If the stones are cholesterol based it will dissolve them -talk to any chemist because they are 'in the know'. Urso is also theraputic for other problems around the gall bladder and I believe the liver. It is best to research that chemical treatment before jumping to the conclusion that a gall bladder must be removed because sometimes it does not have to be removed.

do you have a fatty liver ?
1) Ultrasound for Gallbladder/liver/kidneys - one single ultrasound will cover all these areas.
1.5) Blood work for liver function
2)Hida scan for gallbladder function
3)Endoscopy for gastritis.
