Hi everyone. It's my second time posting here and really hoping for some help. In February this year I started having panic attacks when I had 2 weeks off university. I put it in my head down to being stressed for most of the year and finally having 2 weeks where I had no exams or anything to worry about or anything to be anxious about so everything I had suppressed over the year had all come out in horrible 2 week stint of panic attacks and sever anxiety. Most of my anxiety is around health issues, mainly cardiac due to the similar symptoms when having an anxiety/panic attack. I refused diazepam and propanalol as I felt that was just going to mask the symptoms and not deal with the real issue that was causing the health anxiety. For the past month or 2 I've been a lot better in myself but then last Friday I had a really funny turn where I ended up ringing for an ambulance straight away due to the symptoms I was having. I was taken to a&e but soon discharged after a blood test and ecg. I cannot get out of my head though that there is still something wrong with my medically and they're missing it on the tests. I rang my doctor this morning to discuss my symptoms but once he saw in my notes about my previous prescriptions (diazepam and propanalol) he fobbed it off as anxiety again. I suppose I'm coming here to see if there is anyone else who has the same symptoms as me. I've had the following symptoms for the last 2 weeks now; pain in my left thigh, chest pain on left side radiating round to my underarm, numbness and tingling in my left arm and a funny feeling in my face and neck. I've had these symptoms continuously for the last 2 weeks and no amount of pain killers or resting will ease them. It feels like someone is sat in my chest constantly and every time I move they're putting more weight on my chest. I've also had on and off pain in my left calf and general aches and pains and headaches for the 2 weeks too. I'm so worried they're missing something seriously wrong due to my previous anxiety and panic attack symptoms only lasting 10-20 minutes. I've tried meditation and breathing techniques but nothing is helping with the physical symptoms. Really appreciate any help or advice from people going through the same thing, cheers

Hi There, I'm also at university, I suffered with something similar to you with health anxiety and physical symptoms (I had them all 😂, and first of all as much as you may think there is some underlying health issue causing all your symptoms, there 100% isn't. Your physical symptoms are actually a healthy body's response to danger (the problem being that there actually isn't any danger). The thing that helped me in the end was getting a medical check up and then I started using an app called 'headspace' which I still use and it's absolutely brilliant. It's a meditation app but it's completely guided, the thing is you have to do it every single day just for 5-10 minutes each day and in a few months you'll feel hundreds of times better - hope this helps

Hi, usually for me I'm 110-120 over 80-90 but during an attack it's been as high as 150 and when I was in the ambulance on Friday night it went to 90/40 which is scarily low for me

i can relate to you on this completely. My main stress and anxiety is around the fact that something is wrong with me and that my dr is just missing it... I have the same pain your talking about in both thighs and calves as well.. it’s usually one or the other but sometimes it’s both at the same time as well. What my doctor has told me is that your body tenses up when your anxious or stressed.. even if you don’t feel like you are, your body may still be reacting to the stress. All of your symptoms say anxiety, but I know you are panicking for the same reason as myself for the fear that it could be something else. I understand. I would try your best to try and trust your doctor, they only want the bet for you and if they feel like something was wrong they would order further testing to be done. Have you taken any anxiety medication ?

Hi, thank you for the response. I really don't want to start medication as I fear I wouldn't be able to come off them then and I think it would increase my anxiety due to possible side effects and so on. I sometimes wish there was something physically wrong with me because at least then it would be treated and go away :-(
