Hi guys im just after some reassurance. Ive been on citalopram 20 mg before around 2 years ago, for a year and a half for anxiety. It absolutely 100% changed my life, i had never felt so calm and confident in my adult life. After side affects they kicked in within two weeks....i was flying!
So after 18 months the doctor said that she would like me to try and come off them, and me feeling so great agreed. I had no side affects coming off and felt just the same as when i was on them. But around a month ago i started getting burned out, people started to say i looked tired and my old friend rumination came back.
So after a week of this i went straight to the doctors and told them and they offered me citalopram again, which i almost snapped there hand off for! They have also signed me off work. So ive been on the 20 mg for just over three weeks and just feel awful still?? I just dont get why they arnt working this time, I'm just running at 50%, bad anxiety in the night and morning, poor appetite( have lost a stone ) but i do feel quite calm in the afternoons?.....until the night games begin.

Well done on your improvement that's great! I am on week 3 myself and starting to feel bit better too. It is a gradual thing but when you get there your feel so much better! Go carting sounded fun.

Yes you will get some strange feelings along the way, and sometimes it might even feel weird not to be anxious!! If ever eh! It does happen though.
Keep at it ...... you'll get there in time.

It's talked about more nowadays, and there's many celebrities who've also suffered. There used to be a stigma about having depression, and thankfully it's becoming less so. Is it our modern way of life, or is it just more open now ......
Have a great day, and mark another one off as that step to nearer to being well again.

feel kinda posotive today like all is not lost and that people are rooting for me to get better still having little waves of anxiety but i have managed not to wear a grove in the carpet from pacing up and down lol have also managed to have a sleep on the sofa
And do some mindfulness on youtube i think my nervous system is calming down a little
Have a great evening Craig xx

Yes those waves of anxiety will come and go for a while yet ...... people who've never had it have absolutely no idea how it floors you and how devastating it can be. They think it's just feeling a little nervous, shaky ...... probably how I thought it was too before having it.
I can usually spot what drags me down, and it is strange how all the positiveness disappears once you feel ill again and how your mind goes into overdrive.
I feel I'm a much stronger person now, having been through depression and anxiety. It's given me a different outlook on life ...... appreciation of everything, however small 🙂
