Hello yes i am two years almost three years post and I had every symptom possible and I now feel great. Had to change my diet totally as I learned certain foods made me worse. Have now lost the weight I had started to gain, loads more energy and very few symptoms. I think we have to change with our bodies. I feel back to my old self.

    good luck

May I ask, when you went through peri, did you ever use any meds or hrt? Or go through naturally?

I am not on any medications (doctor prescribed an antidepressant which I have not taken and GYN offered HRT which I will not start) I do have an antianxiety med for difficult times as my Doc doesn't prescribe a lot (which is a good thing)

      Thank You

Hi no i never took as was afraid of side effects and you are only prolonging the inevitable. My friend was on it for years and now almost 60 and going through everything I went through. Honestly its diet and exercise. our bodies can no longer digest the foods we used to eat . Sugar made me bloated, sluggish and flush and sweat. Coffee, alcohol, spicy food and any thing tomato based made my reflux worse. pasta, bread again bloat also dairy.

I found moving onto plant based diet fun it made me excited about food again. I have lost weight and feel great . No more sweating at night and sleeping better.

Right, if you go on HRT, isn't this just prolonging the inevitable? I mean naturally we are supposed to go through this process.

May I ask you another question, because this is my biggest issue, did you have the anxiety and weepy feelings at all?

And, thank you so much for your responses. I know I am nearing the end of peri and would love to hear that I may actually feel better some day.

Hi. I am post menopausal (about 4years) I certainly feel a lot better than I have done. I have experienced frozen shoulder; left sided breast/rib pain and other joint pain in this stage (along with other symptoms) so definitely not plain sailing. But I changed my diet, I am now fully vegan . I try to eat fresh and organic where possible. I do feel a lot better. i still have blurry vision without glasses and I still experience the 'fog' brain and low libido but on the whole it appears that things are improving. wishing you all well x

I know, right? I have been prescribed HRT and antidepressants, I take neither.

I just want to know if I have side effects, if it's actually me or the meds!

At least now I know any symptom is all my body.

I am 56. (i unfortunately spotted a few months back) I have had all symptoms, with the worst, as I said in a post above, being the anxiety/depression.

BUT there are some (very few) days that I do not feel those feelings anymore.

Then there's the next day and my anxiety is through the roof.

So I am just looking for the light at the end, and if there was one.

yes same for me. my doctor gave me antidepressants, I took one dose, felt horrible afterwards, never took it again. I'm a mess every day, Anxiety, headaches, head pressure but I am just taking one day at a time. I think taking meds might just prolong everything. let's pray this phase passes soon.

every have a drunk feeling in head .heavyness , off balance and headaches every day issues 😭

      Hang is there

I know I utilize this blog mostly when I am feeling down. I wonder if many do that and that is why we don't hear often about getting through it. My Grandma had 3 or 4 years of peri, then did much better. Still some health anxiety, even though she lived to 100. I am hopeful for the same as I have the depression, anxiety, weepiness, heart palps, aches and pains, digestive issues, etc. Thanks for posting question and to all who responded. We really need to hear about the easing of this mess. Here is to good days!
